Personal Reflection
Working on this group assignment helped me learn more about mental health social
work and what it’s like to work with someone else on a project. Working with a classmate
showed me that communication and staying organized are really important. Sometimes it
was a little hard to match schedules and make sure everything got done, but it helped me
be more responsible for my part.
One of the most valuable parts of this assignment was learning more about the
mental health field. It made me realize how important social workers are in helping
individuals and families deal with emotional and psychological challenges. I also learned
how social workers operate on different levels, not just working directly with clients, but
also helping communities and influencing larger systems. This gave me a better
understanding of how broad and impactful this career can be.
I also enjoyed putting the presentation together because it required me to simplify
information and present it in a clear and organized way. It helped me improve my ability to
explain ideas so others can understand them. However, keeping up with all the
requirements for each section was sometimes overwhelming, and it took extra effort to
make sure everything was included and accurate.
If I could do this assignment differently, I would start earlier and plan things out
better. I would talk more with my partner at the beginning so we could split the work more
clearly and stay on track. I would also check in more often instead of waiting until later.
Another thing I would do is practice the presentation more so I could feel more confident
when speaking.
Overall, this assignment helped me improve my teamwork and presentation skills. It
also made me more interested in mental health social work and showed me how important
it is in helping people and communities.
