Specifications for the measurement of works:

The following specifications notes are provided by the design engineer for the measurement of
works:
 Every item should be coded and described according to CESMM4.
 Excavation is taken to be for foundation, there is no top soil. Selected excavated material
is used for backfilling but surplus from excavations to be carted away.
 Hardcore filling material is natural imported laterite material.
 Concrete works: 50mm thickness of blinding concrete is to be provided. Concrete mixes
shall be ‘Designed concrete’ as follows: Grade C10/12 and 20 mm aggregate for blinding
concrete, and Grade C25/30 and 20 mm aggregate for structural reinforced concrete
 For water retaining structures: use Grade C30/37 and 20 mm aggregate for structural
reinforced concrete,
 Fair finish formwork is to be used
 Reinforcement to deformed high yield steel bars, or reinforcement to mild steel bars,
 Blockwork using dense concrete blocks with wall thickness 225mm if any,
 Make all other necessary assumptions for the taking off.
