1. Prepare a blank table showing the numbers of employees in a big business concern
according to
a. Gender: Males and Females
b. Five age groups: Below 25 years, 25 years to 35 years, 35 years to 45 years, 45
years to 55 years, 55 years and above.
c. Years: 1985, 1990 and 1995
d. Three grades of salary: Below Rs 1000, Rs 1000 to 2000, Rs 2000 and above.
2. Present the following information in a suitable tabular form, supplying the figures not
directly given:
“In 1965 out of total 2000 workers in a factory, 1550 were members of a trade union.
The number of women workers employed was 250, out of which 200 did not belong
to any trade union. In 1970 the number of union workers was 1725 out of which 1600
were men. The number of non union workers was 380, out of which 155 were
women.”
3. Tabulate the following:
“A supermarket was divided into 5 main sectors- grocery, vegetables, medicines,
textiles and novelties- recorded the following sales in 1971 and 1972. In 1971, sales in
grocery, vegetables, medicines and novelties were Rs 6,25,000, Rs 2,20,000, Rs
1,88,000 and Rs 94,000 respectively . Textiles accounted for 30 % of the total sales
during the year. In 1972 the total sales showed 10% increase over the previous year.
While grocery and vegetables registered 8% and 19% increase over their
corresponding figures in 1971, medicines dropped by Rs 13,000, textiles stood at Rs
5,36,000.”
