SCENE 1 – THE WARNING
(Everyone is off stage except Trishan. He walks to the centre.)
Trishan (Narrator):
Imagine a world where the sky is no longer blue, the air is no longer clean, and forests exist only in photographs.
It sounds impossible, doesn't it?
But if we continue harming our environment, this could become our reality.
Now, let us travel into the future...
🌳
The year 2050.
SCENE 2 – THE LAST TREE
(Ayantika enters slowly and stands alone.)
Trishan:
Once, this place was filled with thousands of trees.
Today...
only one remains.
Ayantika (Tree):
I have stood here for years.
I gave you oxygen.
I gave you shade.
I helped keep the air clean.
I never asked for anything in return.
But one by one, you cut down my friends.
And now...
I am the last tree.
🏗
(Pause.)
SCENE 3 – DEVELOPMENT
(Soumyajit enters carrying a file.)
Soumyajit (Builder):
Excellent! This is the perfect place for our new building.
We just need to remove this tree.
Ranjana:
Remove it?
But this is the last tree!
Soumyajit:
It's only one tree.
The building will provide homes and offices for hundreds of people.
Ranjana:
And what will those hundreds of people breathe?
(Soumyajit becomes silent.)
Ranjana:
We need development.
🩺
But development shouldn't mean destroying the environment.
SCENE 4 – THE DOCTOR'S WARNING
(Suhaan enters.)
Suhaan (Doctor):
The environment and our health are connected.
Polluted air, extreme heat and contaminated surroundings can seriously affect people's well-being.
We cannot expect healthy people on an unhealthy planet.
Soumyajit:
So what should we do?
Suhaan:
Build responsibly.
Protect trees.
Reduce pollution.
And remember that nature is not an obstacle to development.
🔬
Nature is part of our life.
SCENE 5 – THE SCIENTIST'S PLAN
(Libanul enters with a file.)
Libanul (Environmental Scientist):
I have a solution.
We don't have to choose between development and nature.
We can redesign the project.
Keep the existing tree.
Plant new trees around the building.
Create green spaces.
Harvest rainwater.
Reduce unnecessary waste.
Soumyajit:
So development and nature can actually work together?
Libanul:
Exactly.
⏳
True progress protects the future instead of sacrificing it.
SCENE 6 – A MESSAGE FROM THE FUTURE
(Michael enters slowly.)
Trishan:
But then, an unexpected visitor arrived.
A child from the future.
Michael (Future Child):
I am from the year 2070.
I came here to ask you one question.
Why didn't you protect nature when you still had the chance?
In my time, children read about forests in textbooks.
They see pictures of green trees.
But many have never experienced a real forest.
Please...
Don't make our future pay for today's mistakes.
🌱
(Everyone looks at the tree.)
SCENE 7 – THE CHANGE
Soumyajit:
I understand now.
I thought progress meant building more.
But real progress means building without destroying our future.
Ranjana:
We can start with simple things.
Save water.
Plant trees.
Reduce pollution.
Avoid wasting resources.
Keep our surroundings clean.
Suhaan:
And encourage others to do the same.
Libanul:
Because protecting the environment is not one person's responsibility.
🌍
It is everyone's responsibility.
FINAL SCENE – THE PROMISE
(Everyone comes together around Ayantika.)
Ayantika (Tree):
I don't need your sympathy.
I need your actions.
Michael:
Because your actions today...
Ranjana:
...will decide our tomorrow.
Soumyajit:
We promise to choose responsible development.
Suhaan:
We promise to protect our environment.
Libanul:
We promise to use natural resources wisely.
Trishan (Narrator):
There may be billions of people on Earth...
but there is only one Earth.
So don't ask—
"What will happen to the planet?"
Ask yourself—
"What can I do to protect it?"
Everyone Together:
"Protect Nature!"
