are necessary, the number of persons required on part-time/daily basis should be

circular N(). 4('.//86-3 P&S/2008, dated 6th March, 19~6 regarding malntenllce of
registers of TrullkjSTD calls should be meticulously complied with;

(iii) In case ,A couples in service, where both husband and Wife are ended t.
telephone at residence, only one telephone should be allowed. However, their enti'ements
for local calls will remain intact;

(iv) In cases where STD facility has been extended in relaxation of?inance
Department's instructions on "Economy in Expenditure", thi .• facility stands wildrawn,
if not in consonance with B(i) above. Cases for relaxation where necessary, sould be
moved afresh to Finance Department.

(v) The li mit of calls pr.::.>cribd C)r vari ous cuteg lfi es of office) by the
Department of Printing and Stationery.-vide its U.O. No. 4/S0/84-3PS/1571, lilted 29th
December, 1987, and 1.0. No. 4/80/84-3 P & S, dated 4Cl'ioven2ber, 1988:hould be
strictly adhered to. At p esent the Heads of Departments and "other entitlecOffic~rs"
in the field such '15 District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of police re entitled
to 1500 free calls per two months; and

(vi) Despite the in uructions t i limit Cle S'I'D facility to specif'iedofficers, it

has been noticed that STD facility continue t:> b~ enj lye:.'! by non-entitled oficers, may
be due to the fact that the Department of Posts awl Telecommunication 10 not have
instrument, available for Iisconnecting th : STD facility with the result thi telephone
bills in excc,s of the entitlement for free local calls continue P be paidat the State
expense. It has, therefore. been decided that :-

(b) the non-entitle I officers whose bills are in excess of the presci~ed free calls
(of course, without taking into account trunk calIS which arc sbwn separately)

the bill is paid, such telephone bills should not be presenter to treaury for
pa yment and, if presented, will not be passed by Treasurv Offcers;
