Some one believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high
school programmes (for example working for a charity, improving the neighborhood or
teaching sports to younger children ). To what extent do you disagree or agree?
Some argue that helping community without paid should be an inevitable programmes in the
high school’s curriculum. I agree with this view due to several profound merits, however the
ideas of focusing unpaid community service overlook some problems.
Some people argue that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of
high school education. I largely agree with this view due to its significant benefits,
although it may also present certain drawbacks if overemphasized.
From my perspective, volunteer works play a vital role in contributing the human
characteristic, especially for high school students. They educate the humanism which should
be not coupled with profit for student in the society. Not only that, unpaid community services
add them more extra-activities and help students find the joyfulness when they helping
people. This lead (leads) to reduce their stress when focusing on too much theories or excerise
and develop their soft skills. For example, when students take part in the teaching sport the
children. They will have opportunities to play sports and improve their teaching and
communication skills.
From my perspective, volunteer work plays a vital role in developing students’
character. It promotes a sense of responsibility and teaches students that helping others
should not always be associated with financial gain. In addition, participating in
community service provides students with opportunities to engage in extracurricular
activities and experience the joy of helping others. This can reduce stress caused by
academic pressure and improve essential soft skills such as communication and
teamwork. For instance, students who teach sports to younger children can enhance
both their physical abilities and interpersonal skills.
However, it also has potential risk if they focus too much on particiating volunteer. Student(s)
have to waste time and effort for doing them instead of studying in the school while their
main purpose when (+they) go to school is to absorb the knowledge. A more holistic approach
involves combine the unpaid community work in the curriculum as an extra-
activity(extracurricular activity) with theoritical subject to ensure student develop
comprehensive skills and balance their schedule. This avoids the burden of overload and
stress.
However, excessive involvement in unpaid work may negatively affect students’
academic performance. High school students should prioritize their studies, as their
main goal is to acquire knowledge. Spending too much time on volunteer activities
could lead to fatigue and imbalance in their schedules. Therefore, a more effective
approach would be to incorporate community service as a supplementary activity
rather than a core requirement.
In conclusion, while I agree that ecouraging volunteer work present many advantages in terms
of developing humanism and soft skills, sorely relying on this service in the curriculum might
cause stress and lost time for studen. An effective strategy involves a balanced approach
combining unpaid community service as an extra-activity with theoritical subject.
In conclusion, while unpaid community service offers many benefits in terms of
personal development, it should be carefully balanced with academic responsibilities
to avoid unnecessary pressure on students.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people argue that unpaid community service should be a compulsory (mandatory)
part of high school programs. I firmly agree with this view because such initiatives not only
equip students with valuable social skills but also offer a much-needed break from the
rigors of academic study.
Engaging in voluntary work(unpaid community service/ working alongside less fortunate
members) —whether it involves assisting in charity events or teaching sports to younger
children—allows adolescents to interact with a diverse range of people. This exposure
helps them develop essential skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and empathy.
Moreover, by working alongside less fortunate members of society, students learn to
appreciate their own circumstances and develop a sense of gratitude. These experiences
contribute to nurturing a generation that is both socially responsible and sensitive to
community needs.
High school students are often overwhelmed by heavy academic loads, leaving little room
for activities that foster personal growth outside the classroom. Integrating community service
into the curriculum can provide a refreshing change of pace. For instance, after long hours of
studying, students who volunteer to help senior citizens with grocery shopping or community
events often report feeling more motivated. Such activities not only reduce stress but also help
build positive relationships within the community, further enhancing the students’ overall
well-being.
In conclusion, making unpaid community service a mandatory part of high school education
offers significant benefits. It develops crucial interpersonal skills and empathy while giving
students an opportunity to unwind from their academic pressures. By fostering both
personal and social growth, compulsory community service can play a vital role in shaping
well-rounded individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to society.
