Chapter-3high

The study employs a Quantitative, Cross-Sectional Comparative Design to analyze the risks and benefits of solar panel installations in Pasinaya Homes Prime Central, Naic Cavite. It targets 70-80 households from a population of approximately 2,000 residents, using availability sampling for data collection through a validated survey questionnaire. The questionnaire assesses perceptions of risk and reward related to solar panel adoption across four key areas.

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

The study is classified to as Quantitative, Cross-Sectional Comparative Design to compare the

relationship between the risks and benefits of installation of solar panels in a subdivision. Cross-Sectional

studies are observational studies that analyzes data from a population at a single point in time. With that being

said, Cross-Sectional research design was used in this study because it allows collecting data from a large pool

of subject and compare differences between individuals’ perspectives.

LOCALE OF THE STUDY

The study was conducted at Pasinaya Homes Prime Central Sabang, Naic Cavite. The researchers chose

this place due to the increase of solar panel installations in the area. Pasinaya Homes Prime Central is one of the

few subdivisions at Sabang that utilizes solar panels as an alternative to electricity.

POPULATION AND SAMPLING TECHNIQUE

The researchers’ target population is around 70-80 respondents from approximately 2,000 residents of

Pasinaya Prime Central. The researchers employed an approach using availability sampling to select a sample

size of 70-80 households that use solar panels from a list of all owner-occupied homes in Pasinaya Prime

Central. The “Availability Sampling Technique” involves selecting individuals who are readily available and

convenient to reach, often a random selection process.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

For this study, a systematic data collection approach was implemented to ensure accurate analysis. A

formal letter of request was initially composed, followed by the development of a questionnaire checklist,

which was validated by the subject teacher, Mr. King. These validated questionnaires were then used for data

collection. The study was conducted in Pasinaya Prime Central using a survey method, chosen for its

effectiveness. The researcher ensured respondents understood the study’s purpose, An availability sampling

technique was used, allowing the researcher to select participants based on accessibility and relevance to the

topic. Once the questionnaires were filled up, the data was collected, organized, and prepared for analysis.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

This study employed a survey questionnaire to gather data in order to assess the perception of risk and

reward associated with solar panel adoption, and adoption of safety precautions, in Pasinaya Prime Central,

Naic, Cavite. The questionnaire was designed to directly address the research objectives, consisted of forty (40)

items. These items were divided into four sections: (1) Risks Associated with Installation and Maintenance of

Solar Panels; (2) Factors on Decision-Making Process; (3) Local Benefits; and (4) Property Merit. Each section

contained of ten (10) questions. The respondents answered the questions using the 5-point Likert Scale.

The researchers prepared their own questionnaire. The questionnaire was based on their readings,

reviewed, published and unpublished theses relevant to their study. The number of items was determined to

comprehensively address all aspects of the research problem and answer the specific research questions. The

finalized questionnaire is submitted to the research adviser to be reviewed and corrected. To ensure validity and

reliability, the questionnaire underwent a validation process to assess the clarity and objectivity of the questions.
