Zero-to-Hero: The Future Progressive Tense

1. Form of the Future Progressive

The future progressive (or future continuous) is used to talk about actions that will
be in progress at a specific time in the future. There are two main ways to form it:

A. With 'WILL':
Subject + will + be + verb-ing
Example: I will be studying.

B. With 'BE GOING TO':

Subject + am/is/are + going to + be + verb-ing
Example: I am going to be studying.

2. Usages and Examples

Usage 1: An activity that will be in progress at a specific time in the future.

1. I will begin to study at seven. You will come at eight. I will be studying when you
come.

2. Right now I am sitting in class. At this same time tomorrow, I will be sitting in
class.

3. Please don't call me at midnight; I will be sleeping.

4. At 8:00 PM tonight, my family and I will be eating dinner.

5. Next week at this time, she will be taking her final English exam.

Usage 2: The progressive form of 'be going to'.
