TMC OPERATOR’S MANUALS . . .F063450 and F063932

Worldwide Construction
And Forestry Division
LITHO IN FINLAND
Introduction
Foreword

This manual is written for an experienced technician.

Essential tools required in performing certain service work
are identified in this manual and are recommended for
use.

Live with safety: Read the safety messages in the

introduction of this manual and the cautions presented
throughout the text of the manual.

This is the safety-alert symbol. When you see this

symbol on the machine or in this manual, be alert to the
potential for personal injury.

Technical manuals are divided in two parts: repair and

operation and tests. Repair sections tell how to repair the
components. Operation and tests sections help you
identify the majority of routine failures quickly.

Information is organized in groups for the various

components requiring service instruction. At the beginning
of each group are summary listings of all applicable
essential tools, service equipment and tools, other
materials needed to do the job, service parts kits,
specifications, wear tolerances, and torque values.

Technical Manuals are concise guides for specific

machines. They are on-the-job guides containing only the
vital information needed for diagnosis, analysis, testing,
and repair.

Fundamental service information is available from other

sources covering basic theory of operation, fundamentals
of troubleshooting, general maintenance, and basic type
of failures and their causes.

Adjustment should be done Service lock open and

F-driver on.

To access cabin levelling adjustment window press on the

boom symbol in the submenu of the main window.

Cabin levelling’s min and max speed can be adjusted in

the window:

Cabin rotation

Adjust rotation speed % to 100 before adjusting the

currents.

Adjust rotation ramps in same window to 60 %.

T157718
Adjust min current first:

• Activate boom and select min-button.

• Cabin can now be rotated with the left hand joystick
Z-button and the value adjusted with the right hand
Z-button or with keyboard mouse.
• Adjust min currents to the value until the cabin stops
rotating.

Adjust max currents:

NOTE: Value must not be too high! Suitable value most

likely about 550 mA.

• Reduce max current to 500 mA.

• Start increasing the max current until you find the value
where the speed no longer increases.

currents.

On the same window, adjust the acceleration ramps to

50% and the deceleration ramps to 20%.

Adjust min current first:

• Activate boom and select min-button.

• Cabin can now be levelled with the left hand joystick X
and Y movements and the value adjusted with the right
hand Z-button or keyboard.

–UN–21JAN03
• Adjust the min current to a value where the cabin starts
moving (higher value helps levelling to achieve levelled
position).

T163863
Adjust max currents:

• Reduce max current to 500 mA.

• Start increasing the max current of the left cylinder until
you find the value where speed no longer increases.
• Now start increasing right cylinder speed so that when
levelling cabin forward and backward both corners hit
the mechanical limit at the same time.

NOTE: Values must not be too high! Suitable value most

likely about 550 mA.

2

Displacements and control currents of drive pump

and motor control

A Function

TMC adjusts the angles of the transmission pump and

the hydraulic motor on the basis of information from the
controls and on the basis of the load.

B Requirements

After releasing the parking brake the driving direction

selector must be shifted into neutral for a brief moment
and, similarly, the accelerator pedal must be released to
the upper position (dead zone).

The stairs are up.

The high or low gear is engaged.

The engine is running (oil pressure).

There are no alarms activated that would prevent driving.

The machine speed and the pump and motor control

current will change in relation to the position of the
accelerator pedal.

The motor current will start increasing from the zero level
the moment the machine starts moving.

3 High/low gear
4

A Function

The high gear is engaged by the high gear output.

Similarly, the low gear is engaged by the low gear output.

When shifting the pump receives short impulses back and

forth for five seconds. This is to ensure that the shifting
process is successful. Driving is prevented until the gear
engagement is detected by the gear control switch.

B Requirements

The low gear goes on as the machine is switched on.

The high/low gear shifting is possible in case the parking

brake is released, the service brake is engaged and the
driving direction selector is in neutral.

To switch between a low and high gear:

• forwarders: use the hare button on the right hand side

arm-rest.
• harvesters: by the dashboard switch.

EK01662,00000D3 –19–17JAN03–1/1

Service brake

A Function

The service brake is engaged by the output.

B Requirements

The output will be activated if the following requirements

are met:

• The parking brake is disengaged.

• If the machine comes to a halt within one second after
the pump current of the driving power transmission has
dropped below the minimum current level.
• The power transmission stands still, the machine does
not move.

front-wheel drive (harvesters)

A Function

forwarder and the front-wheel drive of the harvester will be
released.

B Requirements

The output will be activated if:

• The high gear has been engaged and the rear-wheel

drive (front-wheel drive) switch is not pressed.

The output will be deactivated if:

• The low gear has been engaged or the rear-wheel drive

(front-wheel drive) switch is pressed.

Differential lock; front-wheel drive

A Function

The front axle differential lock is engaged by the output.

B Requirements

The output will be activated if:

• The machine does not move and the differential lock

switch is pressed.

The output will be deactivated if:

• The machine does not move (the service brake will be

engaged within a second) and the differential lock
switch is not pressed.

If the differential lock switch is pressed during driving the

machine will stop automatically and the lock will be
engaged. After this, the driving speed can be regained

B Requirements

The output will be activated if the following requirements
