Chapter 7: Personal Secretary Xue Yourong!
The Protagonist's Unexpected Arrival?
Half an hour earlier, Xu Liang had arrived at his own company. Xu Corporation was situated on
the busiest commercial street in the Shanghai. Several large buildings nearby were also office
spaces.
As soon as he entered the building, a striking figure approached him. The gaze directed at Xu
Liang radiated admiration and reverence.
Xue Yourong, his personal secretary and a member of the Xu Liang's family, was true to her
name. Her qualities were exceptionally outstanding, and her figure was explosive. She had long
waist-length hair, a flawless oval face with delicate, slender willow eyebrows, and a pair of
shining black eyes that exuded intelligence.
"Mr. Xu, managing thousands of affairs every day, and today, you've finally decided to come to
the office," Xue Yourong said with a tinge of bitterness while leading the way.
Since he brought her into the company, he had delegated everything to her, and Xu Liang had
taken on the role of an absentee shopkeeper. If it weren't for some documents requiring the
CEO's signature, he probably wouldn't even step foot in the company. Of course, she was more
touched by Xu Liang's trust in her.
"Li Wanjun? Wasn't she on a business trip to the subsidiary? Maybe you should fill in for her for
now," Xu Liang raised an eyebrow. He was quite lenient with these heroines who entered his
life. Occasionally, joking around or having a bit of a temper tantrum was no big deal to him; it
added some excitement. But if they crossed the line and made him unhappy, they'd have to face
the consequences.
Before, someone had entered his life, only to discover that beautiful women were abundant by
his side, leading to breakups and accusations of emotional manipulation. Eventually, they all
submitted to him.
Xue Yourong was somewhat exasperated but amused, and she cast a flirtatious look at Xu Liang.
"She just left, Mr. Xu. Why don't you look for her? She can't stop thinking about you."
They chatted and laughed along the way and arrived at the CEO's office. Xu Liang began to deal
with the documents on his desk. While it was said that he was handling documents, in reality, it
was just about signing them. The contents of the documents had all been reviewed by Xue
Yourong, and he had complete faith in the protagonist's abilities.
A Harvard University Ph.D. in economics with numerous international publications, she was
undoubtedly a top talent.
As expected, she would become a valuable assistant to a certain protagonist, helping manage
their industry. Unfortunately, Xu Liang had swooped in and snatched her up ahead of time.
He remembered when he was pursuing her; she had just returned from abroad, looking for a job.
It took a series of sweet talk, coercion, and cajoling to finally win her over. His efforts hadn't
been in vain. He not only acquired a business management genius but also gained god-tier
driving skills from her.
Xue Yourong didn't disturb him; she made him a cup of tea and slowly closed the door when she
left.
Bang, bang, bang!
Not long after, a series of knocks on the door echoed.
"Come in," Xu Liang said, raising his head after granting permission. Xue Yourong entered,
looking somewhat flustered, and said, "Mr. CEO, there's a fight happening outside."
It turned out that someone wanted to enter the company to see Xu Liang without an appointment
but was stopped by the security guards at the door. This person was attempting to force his way
in. His strength was formidable, and none of the several dozen special forces security personnel
stationed there could withstand a single blow. Now, this person had made his way all the way to
the CEO's office.
"Oh," Xu Liang continued to sign documents without even lifting his head. He had likely figured
out who the intruder was.
Just a moment ago, a series of notification sounds rang out in his mind:
[Ding! Lin Hao is seething with anger, Villain points +555.]
[Ding! Lin Hao's mindset is collapsing, Villain points +998.]
[Ding! Lin Hao hates you to the bone, Villain points +999.]
Xu Liang was somewhat puzzled. He couldn't recall having done anything. Just having a meal
with the heroine shouldn't have caused such a reaction. He still didn't know that he had, in fact,
caused a life to be taken.
Seeing Xu Liang's complete composure, Xue Yourong also calmed down. She watched Xu Liang
work, with documents flying around his hand as he signed them. He did it with such a cool and
collected demeanor, as if he were unfazed even in the face of a collapsing mountain.
That handsome side profile, when he focused, was so enchanting that she gradually found herself
captivated. After signing the last document, Xu Liang stretched lazily.
"Let's go and see what he's up to."
Descending the stairs—
Just as he stepped out of the elevator, Lin Hao was seen knocking down the last security guard.
In a short span of time, Lin Hao had made his way from the entrance to the lobby. These special
forces soldiers were no match for him. Even the hidden martial artists guarding Xu Liang had
emerged, their expressions serious, as they watched Lin Hao.
He did show some restraint, not actually injuring the security guards. They would recover with
some rest. In fact, if he wasn't worried about injuring them seriously or even killing them, he
could have moved even faster. As for those martial artists, he didn't even consider them a threat.
In his eyes, they were no better than the security guards.
At this moment, the lobby was filled with many company employees, all curious bystanders.
"The CEO is here," someone shouted, and the crowd dispersed, forming a path.
"Wow, it's been so long since we've seen the CEO. He looks even more handsome now, muah
muah!"
"Infatuated lady, it's only been a few days, you know?"
"But isn't it said that a day apart seems like three years?"
Some of the lovestruck female employees were starry-eyed, exclaiming excitedly. There were
also loyal employees who stood in front of Lin Hao, saying, "CEO, hurry, this guy's after you.
We'll stop him."
"What? He wants to harm the CEO?"
Upon hearing this news, a group of female employees immediately became agitated and rushed
to stand in front of Lin Hao, trying to buy Xu Liang time to escape.
"Our CEO is such a great person, why would you want to harm him? Did he have an affair with
your sister or something? It doesn't make sense; just look at him, he's not that attractive."
"Even if the CEO had an affair, it would be their honor. If the CEO wanted to have an affair with
me, I'd gladly volunteer."
Kneeling and fawning sounds reached Lin Hao's ears, making his face darken. He gazed ahead
with furrowed brows, only to see Xu Liang wearing a smirking expression, openly mocking him.
The calm that had gradually returned after his previous outburst gave way to renewed anger.
While he wasn't present, they had bullied his fiancée and she had even become pregnant. Unless
he killed Xu Liang, he couldn't quell the burning hatred in his heart.
