Overview
On this part of the lesson, the students will give an ample time to practice some
lead up activities in table tennis. Using the shakehand grip the students can able
to practice ball control using backhand and forehand grip.
After ample time of practice they will undergo some evaluation by recording their
performance through video their activities and papers.
Objectives
At the end of the module, the student is expected to:
1. Practice some lead up games.
2. Perform some lead games.
3. Demonstrate the use backhand and forehand stroke in table tennis.
Discussion
HAND GRIPS (Note all the students should use Shakehand Grip)
Be familiar in using shake hand grip in playing table tennis. When the
palm of your hand carrying the racket was facing your opponent it is called
forehand stroke. On the other hand,, when the back of your hand carrying the
racket is facing your opponent, it is called backhand stroke.
Have time in practicing the backhand and forehand stroke by bouncing
the ball in your racket in the upward hit successively using shakehand grip.
First in stationary place and secondly while walking around the room.
Have time in practicing the backhand and forehand stroke by
controlling the stationary ball in your racket for a lot of minute/seconds without
falling the ball in the floor. First in stationary place and secondly while walking
around the room.

HAND GRIPS
Try the two types of grips and practice the following drill. Take note of how
you can control the upward hit or bounce of the ball using the handgrips. List
down the number of successful hits you made under each column.

Note:
Make sure that you do not move far from your starting place as
you hit or bounce the ball upward.
The bounce should be head-high or higher
The grip should remain the same all throughout the required
number of hits otherwise these will not be counted.
You are given two trials. Record the higher scores.
