What is Microsoft PowerPoint?
Microsoft PowerPoint is
a presentation software
developed by Microsoft
that is used to create,
edit, and deliver slide-
based presentations. It is
part of the Microsoft 365

Most PowerPoint presentations are built using a
template, which includes a background color or
image, a standard font, and a variety of slide
layouts. Changes to the template can be saved to a
"master slide," which stores the presentation's
main slide theme. Changes to the master slide,
such as selecting a new background image, are
propagated to all the other slides. This ensures that
all of the slides in the presentation have a
consistent appearance.
When delivering a PowerPoint presentation,
the presenter can choose whether to have the
slides change at predetermined intervals or to
control the flow manually. This can be
accomplished with a mouse, keyboard, or a
remote control. The presentation flow can be
further customized by allowing slides to load
completely or one bullet at a time. If the
presenter has several bullet points on a page,
for example, he may have individual points
appear when he clicks the mouse. This allows
for more interaction with the audience and
focuses attention on each point

A transition in PowerPoint is a visual
animation effect that plays when you
move from one slide to the next
during a presentation. You can
customize these effects by adjusting
their speed, adding sound, or setting
slides to advance automatically after
a specific time.
Presentation Views
Presentation views in Microsoft PowerPoint are different display modes
that help you create, edit, organize, and deliver your slides. These include
the Normal view for daily editing, Slide Sorter for rearranging layouts, Slide
Show for full-screen audience presentation, and Presenter View to manage
notes and timing behind the scenes.
Normal View
Normal view is the default, primary
editing mode in Microsoft
PowerPoint. It divides the
workspace into three main sections:
a left pane displaying slide
thumbnails for navigation, a large
center pane for editing the active
slide, and a bottom pane for
speaker notes.
Notes Page View
Notes Page view in Microsoft PowerPoint is a
feature that displays a thumbnail image of your
slide alongside a designated text box for your
speaker notes. It allows you to review, edit, and
format supplementary scripts or cues for each
slide and is the exact layout that prints when
you create audience handouts.
Outline View
Outline View in Microsoft PowerPoint
is a workspace mode that displays
your presentation text in a pure
outline format, stripping away all
graphics, colors, and layout shapes. It
is accessed by navigating to the View
tab on the top ribbon and selecting
Outline View from the Presentation
Views group.
Slide Sorter
Slide Sorter view in Microsoft PowerPoint is a
specialized layout that displays all the slides in your
presentation as horizontally sequenced thumbnails.
Instead of focusing on editing individual slide text or
graphics, this view gives you a holistic, bird's-eye
perspective of the entire deck. It is specifically
designed to help you analyze, organize, and manage
the overall flow and structure of your presentation.
