After Pre-test result that I find on the on the 5
students are facing the difficulty in reading and
understanding the English language. So, I was taking
some method or strategy for remove difficulties.
Day -1
Activity -1

First, I had given the learners to read the paragraph

and to understand few known words. The learners
had written the word and also the meaning and after
that I had checked the understanding skills. The
learners properly read loudly those words 5 or 6 times
and practicing that.
Ex.

THE BLUE JACKAL

The Blue Jackal story is a popular
Panchatantra tale about a jackal named
Chandaraka who, while fleeing dogs, falls into a
blue dye vat and emerges with blue fur. He then
deceives the other animals in the forest by
claiming to be a divine creature sent to rule
them, taking advantage of their fear and
confusion. Eventually, his true nature is
revealed when he hears other jackals howling
and instinctively howls back, exposing his
deception.
DAY -2
ACTIVITY-2

children a word and they will find another similar
words
Ex.
Syllable words and new words made by students

GET – SET
NEW – FEW
COOK – BOOK
DAY- 3

Learners will understand the word and make

sentences using these words.
Sentence:- (1) The dog is happy.
(2) Lets play a game.
(3) I see the cat.
Day-5

I had taken the word- game after that I had gave the
word card to the learners. When I had spoken out the
sentence after that the learners listen carefully and
arrange the letter to made the sentence in right
order. The learners had practiced the method and the
understanding skill will improve.
Day-6

Chunking Method :- Chunking method is very funny

method and also a very good and effective method.
Chunking method is when you break the word small
part like whatever you want in this method and how
do you want the break this words is in your hands but
when you break it, It is very easy to learn reading,
spelling, understanding and you never forget this and
it is very easy to learn this spelling.

Ex. Beautiful= beau- ti- ful

Congratulation= cong- ra- tu- lation
Handsome= hand- some
So, learners practiced this type of word from their
textbook and it improve their reading and
understanding skill.

or tough words. The learners had read the word
loudly and understand the word from dictionary.

A reference book that any subject, the items of which

are arranged
. in alphabetical order (A to Z) and gives their
meaning or that gives the equivalent words.

The learners had search the word and understand

the meaning that is….
Ex.

I had instructions the learners to search these type of

words from their text book.

the word.

prompts to guide students through the reading
p0rocesses and deepen understanding.

text with another partner for better understanding.

they have read, understand, focusing on main ideas
and key details.
Post – test

Action research is a practical way for individuals to
explore the nature of their practice and to improve it.
Action and research proceeds in an action reflection
cycle or spiral. Reading and understanding problem is
a part of efficient communication. The study will
mostly helpful for the student to remove the difficulty
of reading and understanding error with help of
method or strategy. After the pre test the learners
were unable to score very high percentage. But after
all the 10 various type of activities, the reading and
understanding skills in English of the student
increased. After our external help they score better in
post test. After all I think I am successful in improving
the skills of learners.

Education implication
In the end of my action research I realized that
students have improve their reading and
understanding up to 80% because of frank nature and
hard work of pupil teacher students involves in
activities and many other background work that is
also help in various types of activities.
