Working Drawing Guide

As an intern, focus on creating a checklist from the provided architectural, electrical, plumbing, and structural documents rather than memorizing everything. Understanding the structure outlined in the documents is essential before charging for residential working-drawing packages. However, these documents are for learning purposes only and should be reviewed by a registered architect or engineer before any construction submission.

What I'd do if I were you

Since you're learning this as an intern, don't try to memorize everything.

Take the 25-page Gbetsile set and the 36-page 3-bedroom set and create your own checklist.

For example:

ARCHITECTURAL

A-001 — Cover/General Notes

A-002 — Site/Block Plan
A-003 — Se ng Out
A-004 — Ground Floor
A-005 — First Floor
A-006 — Roof Plan
A-007 — Eleva ons
A-008 — Sec ons
A-009 — Finishes
A-010 — Door/Window Schedule
A-011 — Staircase
A-012 — Toilet/Kitchen Details
A-013 — Construc on Details

ELECTRICAL

E-001 — Ligh ng
E-002 — Power
E-003 — AC
E-004 — Fire Alarm
E-005 — DB/Schema c

PLUMBING

P-001 — Water Supply

P-002 — Drainage
P-003 — Sep c/Soakaway

STRUCTURAL

S-001 — Founda on
S-002 — Column Layout
S-003 — Ground Floor Slab
S-004 — Beam Layout
S-005 — Roof Structure
S-006 — Staircase Details

That's the kind of structure I would aim to understand before you start charging GH₵3,000–
5,000+ for a residen al working-drawing package.

One cau on: these are reference/student/online documents, not something I'd blindly issue for
construc on. Use them to learn documenta on standards, then have the appropriate registered
architect/engineer review work that will actually be submi ed or built.
