The document outlines the calculation of ampacity for a service entrance, detailing the total current load from lighting, appliances, and other sources, resulting in a total load of 13800 watts. It specifies the required sizes for conduit and conductors, including 32 mm diameter conduit, 38 mm² TW copper wire for the main feeder, and a 22 mm² neutral wire. Additionally, it mentions the use of 100 amp circuit breakers for the main disconnecting means.

CALCULATING THE AMPACITY OF THE SERVICE ENTRANCE 3.

Size of Conduit Pipe

CONDUCTOR AND THE MAIN DISCONNECTING MEANS Use 1 pc. 32 mm diameter conduit pipe
1. Determine the total current load
[Link] Load ------------------------------------------------------------800 watts 4. MAIN BREAKER
[Link] Appliance Load -----------------------------------------------1800 watts Use 2 pcs. 100 amp. 2 wire 250 volts, 2 pole molded circuit breaker
[Link] Load -------------------------------------------------------------10000 watts
Total Load except the Air Conditioning Unit (acu) --------------12600 watts NOTE:
The total computed connected load is 63 amp, a 30 mm² copper wire
Apply Demand Factor could be used considering its 90 amp capacity. The PEC provides that if
First 10,000 watts @ 100% Demand Factor - 10000 watts the computed load exceeds 10,000 watts, the conductor and over current
Subtract: 12600-10000 = 2600 watts protection shall be rated not less than 100 ampere, hence 2 pcs 38 mm²
Multiply: 2600 x 40% = 1040 watts TW copper wire is sued for the main feeder and 2 pcs. 100 amp for the
Aircon (acu) at 100% demand factor = 2760 watts main breaker.
Total ------------------------------------------------------------ 13800 watts

Total Connected Load plus 25% of the largest motor 230 v.

I= 13800 watts + (25% of 2760 watts)
230 v
I= 63 amp.

2. Size of the Main Feeder & Neutral Line

Use 2 pcs. 38 mm² TW copper wire

The neutral conductor of a 3 wire line to line (Meralco service) shall have
an ampacity of not less than 70% of the ungrounded (live wire) conductor
or two trade size smaller than the ungrounded conductor (PEC specs.):
Therefore: Use 1 pc. 22 mm² No. 4 AWG TW copper wire neutral
