b. General Orientation and the Situation
Surya Bhumi and Chandra Bhumi have shared a long and peaceful relationship, with the
Ghattekhola serving as their natural boundary. However after Surya Bhumi successfully
conducted federal parliament election and began rapid development activities. Chandra
Bhumi viewed this progress as a threat to its political and economic interest. In response,
Chandra Bhumi imposed an economic blockade, restricted essential suppliers and
constructed a unilateral embankment along the river causing severe flooding in Surya
Bhumi border villages. Chandra Bhumi also withdraws all previous assistance and
increased military deployment near the border, leading to frequent violations, looting and
civilian harassment. Therefore Surya Bhumi has adopted a defensive position to
safeguard sovereignty and prevent further aggression.

2. Model Briefing (By 2IC)
3. Terrain Analysis
a. Observation
Dense forest and uneven ridgelines limit long range visibility.
Fog and cloud cover around Chandragiri reduces observation in morning/evening. So
establish observation post, use binoculars, night vision devices (NVDs) and use Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle (UAV) (Drone) for continuous observation.
b. Cover and concealment
Limited cover in slope, enemy can use forest and uneven grounds for concealment and
surprise us, so improve defensive cover using Sanger and sandbags and conduct patrolling in
forest routes.
c. Obstacles
Steep slopes, narrow trails and rocky terrain restrict movements. River/streams like Balkhu
khola create barriers during rain. So mark and use the alternate routes, Make crossing points
through temporary bridge.
d. Key terrain
Chandragiri Hill, Deurali Danda dominates our defensive area. Lose of this terrain can
expose main routes and settlement to enemy fire, so occupy the high ground to control
operations area and main approaches.
e. Avenue of approach
Main roads like Thankot- Kathmandu, Matatirtha- Kirtipur allows rapid enemy advance.
Forest provide infiltration routes so, control highway using checkpoints, barriers and monitor
foot trail with patrol and ambushes.
4. Landmarks
Own Position name: Position, Matatirtha Temple name: Temple, Deurali Danda name: Danda,
Raute gaun name: Gaun.
