5 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The rapid growth of digital investment platforms has revolutionized the financial services
industry in India, with apps like Groww emerging as leading players. Despite its
increasing popularity, there is limited research analyzing the financial performance and
growth strategies of the Groww app in the highly competitive fintech sector. The problem
lies in understanding Groww’s financial health, growth patterns, and strategic approaches
to market positioning in a competitive and dynamic market environment. This study aims
to investigate Groww’s financial performance, evaluate its user acquisition strategies, and
identify areas for improvement to sustain its market dominance.
1.6 RESEARCH GAP
Although there is extensive literature on the fintech industry, much of it focuses on global
trends or other financial services, with limited emphasis on investment platforms like
Groww.
Moreover, there is insufficient research on the financial performance and growth
strategies of Groww in the Indian context, especially when compared to its competitors.
This study seeks to address this gap by focusing on Groww’s financial and operational
data, providing a detailed analysis of its performance and strategic initiatives in the
Indian market.
1.7 OBJECTIVES
The Primary Objectives of the study are:
1. To Identify the level of awareness of Groww app users.
2. To Evaluate the preference factors and growth strategy of Groww app.
3. To Study the satisfaction level of Groww app users.
1.8 NEED AND SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Need for the Study: With the rise of digital investment platforms in India, understanding
the financial performance and strategic approaches of leading platforms like Groww is
crucial. This analysis will help businesses, policymakers, and investors comprehend the
dynamics of the fintech market and identify growth opportunities.
Scope of the Study: The study will focus on Groww’s operations in India, analyzing its
financial performance and growth strategies over the past five years. It will examine key
metrics such as revenue growth, profitability, user base expansion, and technological
advancements, providing actionable insights into its market potential.
1.9 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY METHODOLOGY
The study relies on secondary data, gathered from a variety of publicly available
sources to ensure a comprehensive analysis. Key data sources include Groww's official
website, which provides detailed information about the company's services, mission, and
growth over time. Annual reports published by Groww offer valuable insights into the
company's financial performance, strategic initiatives, and market positioning. Industry
publications and research papers focused on the fintech sector are also pivotal, as they
provide context, comparisons, and in-depth analyses of trends and developments within
the industry. These sources collectively help paint a robust picture of Groww's standing
and progress.
1.10 PERIOD OF STUDY
The study will cover the period from 2018 to 2023 to analyze Groww’s financial
performance and strategic growth during this time. This timeframe is chosen to capture
significant growth trends, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on digital
investment platforms and the subsequent market recovery.
1.11 TOOLS USED IN THE STUDY
The following techniques will be used to analyze Groww’s financial and operational
performance:
Percentage Analysis: It is a basic method used to evaluate and compare data by
expressing one value as a percentage of another. This type of analysis helps in
understanding the proportion or relative size of different components in relation to
a whole, making it easier to analyze trends, performance, or changes over time.
Chi Square Analysis: It is a non-parametric test that compares the observed
frequencies with the expected frequencies to determine if the differences are due
to chance or if they are statistically significant
1.12 LIMITATIONS
The study will be subject to certain limitations:
1. A significant majority of respondents are aged 18–25, which limits the representativeness
of the survey for other age groups like under 18, 26–35, 36–45, or above 45. This may
lead to insights that are biased towards the preferences and habits of younger users.
2. he survey results show a higher percentage of male respondents, which could mean the
feedback may not fully capture the perspectives or needs of female users and other
gender identities.
3. Overwhelmingly, most respondents are students or working professionals. This might
narrow the scope of insights, neglecting freelancers, retirees, or those in other
occupations who might use the app differently.
4. For open-ended questions such as "Any final comments or suggestions," many
respondents gave generic answers like "no suggestions" or "good." This reduces
actionable insights and makes it harder to implement targeted improvements.
5. External events such as government regulations, economic fluctuations, or global market
trends may influence Groww’s performance during the study period.

INTERPRETATION
The table shows the distribution of respondents across different age groups. The data indicates
that the vast majority of respondents, 92.5%, belong to the 18-25 age group. This suggests that
the sample is predominantly composed of young adults. In contrast, the other age groups—Under
18, 25-35, 36-45, and Above 45—each account for less than 5% of the total respondents, with
only one or a few individuals in each category.
The total number of respondents is 106, which makes up the entire sample. This age distribution
implies that the insights and conclusions drawn from this data will predominantly reflect the
perspectives and experiences of the 18-25 age group. Consequently, any strategies, services, or
products designed based on this data should primarily cater to the needs and preferences of this
demographic.
Majority (92.5%) of the respondents is of the age group of 18-25 years.

HYPOTHESES:
Null Hypothesis (H₀): There is no significant association between the main reasons
(User Friendly Interface, Mobile Accessibility, Portfolio Tracking, Customer Support,

Alternative Hypothesis (H₁): There is a significant association between the main

Degrees of Freedom (df): (5-1) (5-1) = 4 4 = 16
Significance Level: 0.05
P-Value: 0.040021
Since the p-value (0.040021) is less than the significance level (0.05), we reject the null
hypothesis (H₀). This means there is a statistically significant association between the main
reasons listed (User Friendly Interface, Mobile Accessibility, Portfolio Tracking, Customer
Support, Other) and the frequency categories (1 to 5).
Interpretation: The results of the chi-square test indicate that the observed frequencies of the
main reasons for using the Groww App differ significantly from the expected frequencies across
the frequency categories. This suggests that respondents' reasons for using the app are not evenly
distributed and that certain reasons are more prominent in specific categories.
For example, the chi-square contributions in the table highlight that "User Friendly Interface"
and "Portfolio Tracking" have higher observed frequencies than expected in certain categories.
Conversely, other reasons like "Customer Support" and "Other" show different patterns of use.
This significant association between the main reasons and the frequency categories suggests that
users' preferences and usage patterns are influenced by specific features and functionalities of the
Groww App. These insights can help tailor marketing strategies, improve user experience, and
prioritize feature enhancements to better meet users' needs and preferences.

Explore ways to improve the impact of online ads.
Address the reasons for rare usage and encourage more frequent interaction by
introducing incentives, personalized notifications, and engaging content.
Based on the chi-square test, focus on enhancing UI design and security features to
improve user satisfaction and usage frequency.
Emphasize the user-friendly interface and portfolio tracking capabilities in marketing
efforts, as these are key reasons for app usage.
While the app’s performance is generally rated positively, address the concerns of the
minority who rated it poorly to ensure a consistent user experience.

rewards programs, and personalized content.
Focus on improving AI recommendations and goal-tracking tools, as these are highly
requested features.
Implement intuitive, real-time feedback mechanisms to better understand user preferences. Use
this data to refine features and deliver tailored experiences.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the study reveals that Groww has successfully positioned itself as a
leading, user-friendly investment platform with high awareness, especially among tech-savvy,
younger investors. Users appreciate the app’s transparency in fees, simplicity in navigation, and
robust security features, which have contributed to its growing popularity. The platform’s low-
cost investment options, strong customer support, and educational resources for beginners further
enhance its appeal. While users are generally satisfied with the app, there is demand for more
advanced research tools, diverse investment options, and improved features for portfolio
tracking. Overall, Groww’s growth strategy is centered on providing accessible, cost-effective
investment solutions, and with continuous improvements, it has the potential to attract an even
larger user base. The survey results provide valuable insights into the demographic
characteristics, usage patterns, and preferences of respondents regarding the Groww app. The
data highlights a strong representation of young adults, particularly students and females, with a
preference for social media as the primary source of awareness. The findings from the chi-square
tests indicate significant associations between various system aspects, main reasons for use, and
their frequency categories, suggesting areas for improvement in UI design, security, and feature
offerings. Overall, the Groww app is perceived positively in terms of speed, performance, and
market understanding strategies. However, there are opportunities to enhance user engagement
and satisfaction by addressing specific user needs, improving key features, and leveraging
effective awareness channels. By implementing the suggested strategies, Groww can better cater
to its user base, increase app usage, and achieve sustained growth.
