Congratulations for passing part 1 and well done for finishing 5 years of
residency

books list.

Remember: Start early, study smart and work hard.

Reading Material

1) Oxford handbook of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

2) Self-assessment and review: Gynecology by Sakshi Arora
3) Green-Top Guidelines

It is ideal to read those books through your rotations and have a good
grasp of the topics prior to preparing for the exam.
Reading the guidelines will help you with your day-to-day practice and
guide you to answering the questions.

You can read a chapter / topic and pick a question several question
books and do the SBAs on the relevant topic.

Always check on Amazon for new MRCOG based SBA books and include
them in your list.

There are few older MCQ books such as Success Manual, Khalid & Tahani,
and Comprehensive Gynecology (If you’re ahead of your schedule and
welling to spend time on older books then you can, otherwise you can go
through the past papers)

Once you’re close to the exam, focus on the SBA books (Give yourself 2-3
months according to your working schedule / speed / knowledge)

Give yourself enough time to revise the SBA books.

I would suggest keeping a notebook/folder of notes divided according to

the RCOG modules and jotting down notes from the explanation of each
SBA in each relevant section. You will eventually notice that you have
collected a good amount of information around a topic from the questions.
You can enhance your notes by adding pictures / diagrams / flowcharts /
etc from the green-top guidelines.

Revise your notes thoroughly prior to the exam

Revise the important charts / numbers prior to the exam

Past Papers
I would suggest to do each paper and revise the answers from the key
answer sheets from previous groups.

You can start with them in groups.

Personally, I have gone through the past 5 years past papers only.
