LOCKDOWN
Narrative Version
Opening – Foreshadowing
EXT. HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS – DAY
The morning sun paints the school in warm gold. Students laugh, teachers greet each
other, and the campus feels ordinary—as if nothing in the world could disturb its
peace.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
Some mornings look exactly like every other morning… until they’re remembered as
the last normal one.
The camera slowly passes a row of lockers.
For a split second, it lingers on JESHRIC, standing alone in the distance. His
classmates walk past without noticing him. He looks up briefly, then disappears into
the crowd.
Cut to—
INT. CLASSROOM
LAWAN scrolls endlessly through bad news on his phone.
RHIAN laughs while tossing paper balls into the trash.
BULAN quietly flips through the pages of her novel.
JELIAN stares outside the window as dark clouds slowly begin to cover the bright sky.
The room feels warm.
Comfortable.
Safe.
Until—
The school alarm tears through the silence.
“LOCKDOWN INITIATED. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”
Everything stops.
Imagery
The laughter outside dies instantly.
Chairs scrape violently against the floor.
The fluorescent lights disappear, leaving only thin strips of sunlight leaking beneath
the door.
The classroom suddenly feels smaller…
The silence becomes so heavy that every shaky breath sounds too loud.
Flashback (while hiding)
As the four students hide beneath the table—
LAWAN’S POV
The sound of footsteps outside slowly fades…
Instead—
We hear laughter.
FLASHBACK – YESTERDAY
Jeshric quietly sits beside them during lunch.
RHIAN jokingly pushes a carton of juice toward him.
RHIAN
“Bro, you’re way too quiet.”
Jeshric gives a tiny smile.
JELIAN
“You should hang out with us more.”
Jeshric nods silently.
The moment freezes.
The smile slowly fades—
SMASH CUT BACK TO PRESENT.
Heavy footsteps echo outside.
Building Suspense
Every footstep grows louder.
Closer.
Closer.
Then…
Nothing.
Complete silence.
LAWAN’s breathing becomes faster.
BULAN grips the edge of the table so tightly her hands begin shaking.
The doorknob slowly turns.
Once.
Twice.
Then violently.
Everyone freezes.
Dialogue
JESHRIC (O.S.)
(calmly)
Mrs. Curato…
I left my notebook inside.
Nobody answers.
Another pause.
Then—
His voice changes.
Cold.
Angry.
JESHRIC (O.S.)
Open the door.
I know you’re in there.
I can see your bags.
Imagery
Dust drifts through the thin beam of sunlight cutting across the room.
Nobody even blinks.
The sound of someone’s heartbeat almost seems louder than the hallway.
A sudden sharp crash sends shattered glass scattering across the classroom floor.
Tiny pieces sparkle briefly before everything falls silent again.
The footsteps move away.
Nobody believes they’re truly gone.
Flashback #2 (Bulan)
As silence settles—
BULAN remembers seeing Jeshric alone in class days earlier.
Everyone else worked in groups.
He sat by himself.
She almost walked over.
Almost.
The memory fades.
She quietly lowers her head.
Police Arrival
Heavy boots pound through the hallway.
The students hold their breath again.
A loud voice echoes beyond the door.
OFFICER RODRIGO
Police!
Open the door!
Mrs. Curato hesitates for one terrifying second before unlocking it.
Light floods into the room.
For the first time…
Everyone exhales.
Ending – Emotional Narrative
INT. GYMNASIUM
Parents embrace crying children.
Emergency blankets shimmer under the bright lights.
Paramedics move quickly through the crowd.
The room is full—
Yet somehow everyone feels alone.
The four friends sit together in silence.
RHIAN stares blankly at the floor.
RHIAN
We were laughing with him yesterday…
How did everything change overnight?
No one answers.
JELIAN looks around the gym.
Not at the chaos—
But at the people holding each other.
Final Voice-over
JELIAN (V.O.)
Fear doesn’t always arrive wearing the face we expect. Sometimes it walks the same
hallways… shares the same classrooms… and hides behind an ordinary smile.
We can’t always know what battles someone carries. But we can choose kindness,
notice when someone is struggling, and look out for one another.
Some days change your life forever. What matters afterward is that we refuse to let
fear erase our humanity.
FADE TO BLACK.
