1. What is the use of File Explorer?

Answer: File Explorer is an application that displays detailed information about files, folders, and
drives. It enables you to access, edit, manage, and organise the files and folders on your computer.
You can use it to view, create, delete, copy, move, rename, and search for files and folders.

2. What is a subfolder?

Answer: A folder within a folder is called a subfolder.


3. What is an attachment in email?

Answer: The extra files in an email, such as photos, videos, or other important data sent along with
the message, are called attachments.

4. Define email.

Answer: Email stands for Electronic Mail. It is a facility on the internet to send and receive messages
anywhere around the world in real time.

5. What is the Internet?

Answer: Internet stands for International Network. It is the largest computer network in the world,
connecting millions of computers. These computers are connected through telephone wires,
modem, satellite links, Wi-Fi, or other means, enabling them to share information among each other.

6. What is meant by a search engine?

Answer: A Search Engine searches for various web pages on the World Wide Web (WWW) for
particular information. It allows a user to enter a keyword related to the information they require and
displays the search results as a list of links to the pages on which the keywords are found.

7. What do you understand by netiquette?

Answer: The word Netiquette is a combination of two words — net and etiquette. 'Net' refers to the
internet and 'etiquette' refers to good manners. The special set of manners followed while using the
internet is called netiquette.

8. Differentiate between a file and a folder.

Answer: A file is a collection of related information stored in some storage device, such as a hard
disk, CD, DVD, or pen drive, and is given a name to help find it later. A folder is an area on a
computer where you keep relevant files; a folder can hold other folders as well, and a folder within a
folder is called a subfolder.

9. What do the left and right panes of File Explorer display?

Answer: The left pane displays all the locations, whereas the right pane displays the content of the
folder that has been selected in the left pane.

10. List the changes that you can make using the Control Panel.

Answer: Using the Control Panel, you can make changes related to: System and Security, Hardware
and Sound, Appearance and Personalization, Network and Internet, Programs, Clock and Region,
Ease of Access, and User Accounts.
