1.1 INTRODUCTION TO POWER POINT
PowerPoint is a presentation software developed by Microsoft. It is commonly used for creating
slideshows composed of text, images, multimedia, and graphics for business, educational, and
personal purposes. The primary use of PowerPoint is to communicate information in a
structured, visual format that supports public speaking or sharing content in meetings,
classrooms, and conferences.

1.2 CREATING PRESENTATION IN POWER POINT

To create a new presentation in PowerPoint, open the application, select "New" from the
home screen, and choose a blank presentation or a template. You can also press Ctrl + N
(Windows) or Cmd + N (Mac) to start a new project. Once you have a blank slide, you can start
adding content like text, images, and design elements.

1.3 SLIDE LAYOUT

Slide layouts are pre-designed templates that determine the arrangement of content on a
slide. They typically include placeholders for titles, text, images, and other media. To apply a
layout, click on the "Home" tab and select "Layout" in the Slides group. Choose the layout that
fits the content you want to add, such as Title Slide, Title and Content, Two Content, etc.
1.4 CUSTOMIZING DESIGN
To customize the design and theme of slides, go to the "Design" tab, where you can choose
from various themes and color schemes. You can also adjust the background, fonts, and
effects. For more detailed customization, click "Variants" or "Customize" to adjust the look and
feel of the presentation.

1.5 INSERTING TEXT IMAGES AND MULTIMEDIA

To insert text, images, and multimedia elements, use the "Insert" tab. Click "Text Box" to add
text, "Pictures" to insert images from your device or online sources, "Video" to add multimedia,
and "Audio" for sound files. You can resize and move the elements around the slide to suit your
layout.

1.6 ANIMATION
Animations in PowerPoint are visual effects that control how text, images, and objects appear,
disappear, or move on the slide. To apply an animation, select the object you want to animate,
go to the "Animations" tab, and choose from various effects such as Fade, Fly In, Zoom, etc.
You can further customize the timing and sequence of animations
1.7 SLIDE TRANSITION
Slide transitions are effects that occur when moving from one slide to the next during a
presentation. To apply a transition, go to the "Transitions" tab, select the transition effect, and
adjust the timing and duration. You can choose from simple transitions like Fade or more
dynamic ones like Cube or Push.

1.8 ADDING AND USE OF CHARTS AND TABLES

To add and use charts, tables, and graphs, go to the "Insert" tab and choose the appropriate
option. Select "Chart" to add various types of charts (like bar, pie, or line charts), "Table" to
insert a table, or "SmartArt" for visually appealing diagrams. Once inserted, you can modify the
data directly within PowerPoint or use Excel for more advanced customization.
1.9 COLLABORATION ACESSS
PowerPoint provides several tools for collaboration, including comments (Insert >
Comment), shared access via OneDrive or SharePoint, and real-time editing in PowerPoint for
the web. You can also track changes and collaborate on a presentation with others, allowing
them to add or modify content.

1.10 PRESENTATION VIEW

Presenter View is a tool that allows the presenter to see the current slide, the next slide, and
speaker notes on their screen while the audience sees only the presentation. To use it, connect
your computer to a projector or secondary monitor, and in the "Slide Show" tab, select "Use
Presenter View." Speaker notes are added in the Notes pane below each slide in the Normal
view.

1.11 EXPORTING AND SAVING FILE

You can save or export a PowerPoint presentation by going to "File" > "Save As" to save it in
formats like PPTX (default) or PDF, or by using "Export" to convert it into a video, image, or PDF.
PowerPoint also offers options to save presentations to the cloud (OneDrive) for easier access
and sharing.
1.12 POWER POINT SHARING
PowerPoint presentations can be shared in several ways: via email (as attachments),
through cloud-based services like OneDrive or Google Drive, or by exporting the file in different
formats such as PDF. Additionally, you can share a link to the presentation using Microsoft 365
or collaborate in real time through shared access.

1.13 ADVANTAGES
The advantages of using PowerPoint for presentations include its user-friendly interface, a
wide variety of design tools, templates, and multimedia integration options. It allows for
customization, supports collaboration, and provides interactive elements like animations,
transitions, and multimedia. Its compatibility with other Microsoft Office tools like Word and
Excel also makes it convenient for combining different types of content in one presentation
1.14 LESSON LEARNED

"Through my hands-on experience with MS PowerPoint in the lab, I have gained a

solid understanding of the software's features, including slide creation, multimedia
integration, and design customization. These skills have significantly enhanced my
ability to communicate ideas more effectively and present information in a visually
engaging way. I now feel more confident in using PowerPoint to create professional
presentations, which will be valuable in both academic and professional contexts
moving forward."
