TITLE: - Product Recommendation System for an E-commerce Website

PROBLEM STATEMENT: -
Online shoppers today are presented with thousands of products across multiple categories on
e-commerce platforms, making it increasingly difficult to find items that match their
individual needs and preferences. Most traditional online shopping websites rely on generic
product listings, best-selling items, or manually selected recommendations that are shown to
all users regardless of their browsing behavior, purchase history, search patterns, or personal
interests. As a result, customers often spend a significant amount of time searching for
suitable products, leading to decision fatigue, frustration, and a less satisfying shopping
experience. This lack of personalization not only reduces user engagement but also increases
the chances of customers abandoning their shopping carts or switching to competing
platforms that provide more relevant recommendations.
To address these challenges, there is a growing need for an intelligent AI-driven product
recommendation system that can analyze user behavior, preferences, purchase history,
ratings, and browsing activities to generate personalized product suggestions in real time. By
leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques such as collaborative
filtering, content-based filtering, and hybrid recommendation models, the system can
accurately predict products that are most relevant to each individual user. Personalized
recommendations help customers discover products more efficiently, improve user
satisfaction, increase customer retention, and enhance overall shopping convenience.
Additionally, such a system benefits e-commerce businesses by improving conversion rates,
increasing sales, promoting customer loyalty, and creating a more engaging and data-driven
shopping experience.

OBJECTIVES: -
1. Personalized Recommendations: - To recommend relevant products to users based on
their browsing and purchase history using machine learning techniques
2. User Behavior Analysis: - To collect and analyze user interaction data to identify patterns
and preferences effectively.
3. Improved User Engagement: - To enhance the shopping experience by displaying
relevant recommendations that encourage users to explore more products.
4. Scalable System Design: - To build a system architecture that can handle a growing
number of users and products efficiently.
5. Increased Conversion: - To help improve sales and customer retention by suggesting
products aligned with user interests.
6. Recommendation Accuracy Improvement: - To improve the accuracy of product
recommendations by applying machine learning algorithms and continuously learning from
user interactions.

TITLE: - Uber Path Guardian
PROBLEM STATEMENT: -
Road potholes are a major cause of road accidents, vehicle damage, and traffic congestion.
Existing pothole detection methods rely on manual inspections and public complaints,
making the process slow, inconsistent, and inefficient. These systems also lack real-time
detection, accurate severity assessment, GPS-based location tracking, and timely driver alerts,
resulting in delayed road maintenance and increased safety risks. Therefore, there is a need
for an AI-based real-time pothole detection and prioritization system that can automatically
detect potholes, estimate their severity, record their exact location, and assist both drivers and
road authorities in improving road safety and maintenance efficiency.
ABSTRACT: -
Road safety is a major concern in many countries, and potholes are one of the main reasons
for road accidents and vehicle damage. Potholes are usually formed due to bad weather,
heavy traffic, and poor road maintenance. Most existing methods for detecting potholes
depend on manual inspection or public complaints, which are slow and ineffective.
This project presents an AI-Based Real-Time Pothole Detection and Prioritization System
to address these challenges. The system uses artificial intelligence and image processing to
detect potholes from road images uploaded by users through a mobile application. A
YOLOv11m deep learning model identifies potholes and estimates their severity. The system
automatically records the GPS location of each detected pothole and stores the information in
a central database. Additionally, users can view the detected potholes on an interactive map
(similar to Uber), where pothole locations are displayed as markers, allowing drivers to
identify hazardous roads and plan safer routes.
Based on the severity and location, alerts are sent to nearby drivers to warn them in advance.
The system also helps road authorities by providing prioritized repair information so that the
most dangerous potholes can be repaired first. The interactive map further enables authorities
to monitor pothole hotspots and plan maintenance activities more efficiently.
This project is automatic, cost-effective, and scalable. It reduces the need for manual
inspection, provides real-time information to both drivers and authorities, and improves road
maintenance planning. Overall, the proposed system enhances road safety, supports smarter
infrastructure management, and enables users to navigate roads more safely through real-time
AI-based pothole detection and map visualization.
OBJECTIVES: -
1. Real-Time Pothole Detection: To detect potholes from road images uploaded by users
using AI and image processing techniques.
2. Severity Estimation: To classify potholes based on their severity for effective repair
prioritization.
3. Location Tracking: To record the GPS location of detected potholes and store the
information in a centralized database.
4. Driver Safety Alerts: To provide real-time alerts to nearby drivers about dangerous
potholes to reduce accidents.
5. Smart Road Maintenance: To assist road authorities in prioritizing repairs, reducing
manual inspections, and improving overall road maintenance efficiency.
6. Interactive Pothole Mapping: To display detected potholes on an interactive map using
GPS coordinates, enabling users and authorities to easily identify hazardous road locations.
7. Centralized Pothole Database: To maintain a centralized database of pothole images,
locations, severity levels, and timestamps for future analysis and maintenance planning.
8. Automated Reporting System: To automatically generate pothole reports with location,
severity, and image details, reducing the need for manual documentation.

TITLE: - Traffic Signal Timer Based on Vehicle Density: An Image
Processing Based Adaptive Traffic Control System
PROBLEM STATEMENT: -
Conventional traffic signal systems operate using fixed, pre-set timers that allocate equal
green-light duration to every lane regardless of the actual traffic volume. This static approach
fails to adapt to continuously changing traffic conditions, causing unnecessary waiting time at
low-density roads and severe congestion at high-density intersections. As a result, vehicles
experience longer travel times, excessive fuel consumption, increased air pollution, and
unnecessary idling. Most existing traffic management systems also lack the capability to
monitor real-time vehicle density and dynamically adjust signal timings, making them
inefficient in handling the growing traffic demands of rapidly expanding urban areas.
To address these challenges, the proposed Traffic Signal Timer Based on Vehicle Density
introduces an intelligent traffic signal control system that utilizes image processing, computer
vision, and artificial intelligence to estimate the number of vehicles at each lane in real time.
Cameras installed at intersections capture live traffic images, which are processed to
determine vehicle density and dynamically calculate the optimal green-light duration for each
lane. Instead of following fixed timings, the system allocates longer green signals to heavily
congested lanes and shorter durations to less congested ones, ensuring efficient traffic
movement. This adaptive approach reduces congestion, minimizes waiting time, lowers fuel
consumption and emissions, improves road utilization, and enhances the overall efficiency of
urban traffic management.

OBJECTIVES: -
1. Real-Time Capture: To capture real-time traffic footage/images at each lane of an
intersection using cameras.
2. Density Estimation: To apply image processing and computer vision techniques to
accurately estimate vehicle density per lane.
3. Adaptive Algorithm: To design an algorithm that dynamically calculates and
allocates green signal duration proportional to the measured vehicle density.
4. Prototype Implementation: To simulate and/or implement the adaptive signal timing
logic on a microcontroller-based hardware prototype.
5. Performance Improvement: To reduce average vehicle waiting time and improve
traffic throughput compared to conventional fixed-timer systems.
6. Accurate Vehicle Detection: To detect and count vehicles accurately using image
processing techniques such as background subtraction, edge detection, and
object/vehicle detection for reliable traffic density estimation.
7. Scalable Smart Traffic System: To develop a modular and scalable traffic control
system that can be integrated with IoT-based centralized traffic monitoring for future
smart city applications.
