PROJECT
Smart Flood Detecting Bridge
Aim:
To design and demonstrate a smart bridge model that detects
rising water levels in real time and automatically lifts slightly
using servo motors, ensuring safe vehicle passage during
floods.
Objective:
To prevent accidents and waterlogging during floods.
To provide an early warning system using LEDs and
buzzers.
To develop a cost-effective and eco-friendly flood
management solution.
⚙️ Working Principle
Overview:
The Smart Flood Detecting Bridge monitors water levels using a
sensor. When the water rises above a safe limit, the sensor
sends a signal to the Arduino Uno, which activates two servo
motors. These motors lift the bridge slightly (about 2–3 cm)
from the ground level, allowing vehicles to pass safely.
Working Process:
1. The water level sensor continuously measures the water
level.
2. When the level exceeds the safe limit, it sends a signal to
the Arduino Uno.
3. The Arduino activates both servo motors (SG90)
simultaneously.
4. The motors lift the bridge slightly (~2–3 cm).
5. Red LED and buzzer turn ON to alert people.
6. When the water level drops, the motors return the bridge
to its normal position, and the green LED turns ON.
