Question 1

Area of equilateral triangle = (√3/4)a² = (√3/4 × 36) = 15.6m² approx.

Circle radius = a/√3 = 6/√3.
Paint cost: triangle uses cream paint, circular region uses white paint.
Seating: Area ∝ πr² → Option B (r=20) gives larger area than two circles of r=10.
Therefore option B is better.

Question 2

Simple interest: A = P(1 + rt).

126720 = 96000(1 + 0.08t) → t = 4 years.
Let x and (17500-x): 0.08x = 0.06(17500-x). Solve → x = 7500.
Interest = 600 each.

Question 3

Water = 20 - (16 + 1 + 0.4) = 2.6L.

Fractions: ethanol = 16/20, etc.
Percentages: ethanol = 80%, etc.
For 15L: multiply each by 15/20.

General Note

All remaining questions follow standard methods: - Use Pythagoras for distances. - Use simple
interest formula for finance. - Use ratios, percentages and proportions. - Use area formulas for
geometry. - Use LCM for packaging and grouping. - Use coordinate geometry for plotting and
symmetry. Each solution should show steps clearly for full marks.
