PERFORMANCE TASK (100 Points)


Instructions:
1. Your instructor will divide you into groups with five (5) members.
2. Collaborate with your group and perform the following:
a. Visit a tourism or hospitality establishment and observe its service design and process. Briefly include
an overview of the establishment.
b. Identify and explain each component of their service design:
● People
● Props
● Processes
c. Explain the service design characteristic/s your group thinks the establishment is strong at and what
they lack:
● Holistic ● Sequential
● Co-creative ● Evidential
● User-centric
d. Determine which type(s) of service innovation they are using. Justify your answers.
e. Based on your assessment, conclude if they need to redesign their service and processes. Support your
conclusion.
Note: Include pictures/videos taken during your observation/visit to support your output.

3. Place your output on a short bond paper with the following formatting:
● Font: Calibri/Verdana/Arial
● Font size: 11
● Margin: 1” all sides

4. Create a PowerPoint presentation of your output.


5. The submission and presentation of your output will be on Week 9.
6. You will be given 10 minutes to present your output, including questioning.
7. Your output and presentation will be evaluated using the rubric on page 2 of this file.
