Task 1: The maps below show a beachfront area in Australia in 1950 and the same

area today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.

The pictures illustrate the transformation of a beachfront area in Australia in 1950

and nowadays.
Overall, it can be seen that this place underwent a number of dramatic changes,
the most important of which were the addition of facilities to serve for swimming
activities, the disappearance of the playground and the construction of the road.
Looking first at the north, the road is lengthened across two car parks to the
lighthouse nowadays. The playground disappeared and was replaced by more car
parks, the size of each one is bigger than these in 1950. This facility is serving
people who attend swimming clubs. The number of seats and a pavilion
experiences no change .

Turning to the south, the beach nowadays is expanded to construct more

infrastructure for swimming activities. With the reconstruction of a swimming pool
to 50m, instead of 25m in the past, this alternation will contain more customers to
adapt to more requirements. The surf club was constructed then, this helps people
to find their passion and provide more recreation. The opening of a restaurant will
provide food for people who after attending surfing or swimming, it also recharges
their energy to continue doing other activities.

Task 2: In education and employment, some people work harder than others. Why
do some people work harder? Is it always a good thing to work hard?

On the road of knowledge and the career, many people pay more time and effort
than others. This essay will attempt to examine the underlying reasons for this
phenomenon, and present viable reasons that are always better when people work
hard.

The reason why some people work harder is attributable to a host of justifications.
Chief among these is they want to improve their lives, everybody wants to succeed
and earn a huge amount of money in the future. Many people just want to learn
things that they like, they find more knowledge in their passion and achieve it.
Moreover, they also want to contribute for society, like a doctor, they study and
research how to cure new diseases and avoid them. People will work when they
want to achieve or do something to affect their lives, because if they do not be
proactive, nothing will come.

If someone works hard they will achieve things they want and they will become
better people, but working hard is not always the best choice. Many people spend
all their time working and learning, they do not invest time for their body to relax
and do some rest. For example, many scientists pay too much attention to research
without sleeping, this will damage their physical and mental health. Moreover,
some people addicted to their work that not talk to anyone and have a true
relationship, they have no glance at their parents and relatives, this will cause many
issues on their social lines. If they work too much, they will be against its benefits,
they will reduce their productivity and make incorrect decisions.

In conclusion, people tend to work harder because they want to achieve their goals.
However, working harder is also needed to relax, instead they will make their aims
become more difficult.
