Recommendations
Based from the foregoing findings and conclusions, the following are hereby recommended:
1. Level of competence of TESDA Certificate Holder-Employees in terms of knowledge,
TESDA should focus its training on business and management ethics by emphasizing
strict compliance on standard operating procedures in Front Office, Food Production,
Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Department, relationship with co-employees and
customers, work environment, environmental issues and product safety. It is very
important also for the respondents to be well-informed on the aspects of the
organization’s appropriate ethics in business in order to minimize the cost of business
transactions, to establish customer loyalty, to create trust with suppliers and other
stakeholders, avoid government issues and can be a competitive edge.
2. Level of competence of TESDA Certificate Holder-Employees in terms of skills,
TESDA should focus its training on administrative skills in cash/credit card handling
and report preparation and planning and organizing skills in food preparation lists,
recipes, and procedural information to efficiently plan the production of food items,
and room and supplies inventories by providing additional hands-on activities. These
skills are very important in order for customers to see that hotel employees are
reliable, and that means being able to keep all operations under control to be
productive.
3. Level of competence of TESDA Certificate Holder-Employees in terms of attitude,
TESDA should maintain its training methodologies for attitude competency but should
improve and emphasize teamwork engagement. Teamwork is very important in the
workplace in order to work well with others; this may lead to being a productive
member of a team and achieve quality service by supporting other team members.
4. Future researchers may conduct a study on the level of competence of TESDA
certificate holders to help the TESDA-TVET Program for the continuous improvement
of training program of the government.
