SCENE 1 — THE STUDY

Every story...
begins somewhere.

Most are written...


one page at a time.

But every once in a while...


a story finds you.

I thought I had opened an old book.

I didn't know...
it was opening me.

SCENE 2 — THE HALLWAY

Behind every door...


is a choice.

Some lead us forward.

Others...
lead us inward.

I should have turned back.

But something...
kept calling me.

(Door opens. Pause.)

SCENE 3 — THE FALL

I wasn't falling through darkness.

I was falling...
through myself.

Through moments...
I thought I'd left behind.

The good.
The laughter.

The silence.

The pain.

(Pause as memories begin.)

SCENE 4A — HAPPINESS

Before everything changed...

there was us.

Simple moments...

that felt like they would last forever.

SCENE 4B — CONNECTION

We built dreams.

Shared quiet.

Learned each other's hearts.

I believed...
love was enough.

SCENE 4C — DISTANCE

But distance...
rarely begins with goodbye.

It begins...
with silence.

I thought life was happening to me.
