What is keyboard ?
Keyboard is a main or important part of the
computer.
Keyboard is an input device. Keyboard use for
entering the data into computer by pressing one key
at a time.
Commonly 104 keys on the keyboard. Minimum 102
and maximum 118-120 keys on the keyboard.
Keyboard divided in these groups: -
1. Alphabetic Keys = A to Z
2. Numeric keys = 1234567890
3. Function key = F1 TO F12
4. Cursor Movement Keys
5. Modifier Keys = ctrl, alt, shift , window
6. Symbols = Total Symbols 33 like as ~ ` ! @
Alphabetic keys
Keyboard in many layout like as “AZERTY” and
“QWERTYZ” but we are use the “Qwerty” Layout
These keys are the arrangement of keys is called
the “qwerty” Layout because the first six key on
the top row of the letters are Q,W,E,R,T,Y.
Alphabetic keys are 26 on the keyboard.

Numeric Keys
These are usually located on the right side of the
keyboard and appears like a non scientific
calculator with its ten digit appear arithmetic
operator. When num lock is off we can use these
keys as a arrow keys

FUNCTION KEYS
The function keys numbered form F1to F2 are
usually arranged in the first row at the top of the
keyboard each function performed different-
different function. Its depending upon the current
application being run by the user. They allow the
user to issue computer command without having
to type long.
Definition of F1 to F2
F1: - F1 commonly used for opening the help
window/ or help menu.
F2 : - Choose this key to rename a selected item, and
we can use key in excel for editing the cell. Alt+ctrl+F2
used for open the document window in the ms word.
F3: - F3 used for find the any data.
F4:- Alt+F4 used for exit the current window. And
Ctrl+F4 used for close the document but not a
application.
F5: - F5 used for refresh the desktop. F5 also use in
Notepad for inserting the date/time and in PowerPoint
application F5 used for slide show.
F6:- Move among panes in window explorers.
F7:- F7 function key used for checking the spelling and
grammar mistake.
F8: -
F9: -
F10:- Activate the menu bar and tabs. We can move the
left or right on the selected menus with arrows. And
down arrow to display the pull down menus.
F11: - In internet this key will allow your to toggle
between full screen viewing mode and normal viewing
mode.
F12:- Open the save as window in the ms word
Ctrl+shift+F12 used for print a document in ms word.
Cursor Movement keys
The cursor Movement keys change the position
of the cursor on the screen or documents
There are Four movement keys on the keyboard.
Left, Right, Up, Down
Left or right one character = or
Left or right one word = Ctrl+ or Ctrl+
Upper or down one line = or
Up or down one paragraph =Ctrl+ or Ctrl+
Modifier keys
Modifier keys are Shift, Ctrl (Control), Window, Alt
(Alternate).
Modifier keys use for special function keys.
Or user can press letter or a number while holing
down the modifier keys to carry out number of
special function.

Enter on keyboard - 2
Alt - 2
Ctrl - 2
Window Keys - 2
Shift - 2
One is pop up keys it is also use for same as
right click of the mouse button.
About Ecs Esc
Esc is Escape equivalent to clicking to Cancel
Button.
In PowerPoint the Esc key will stop a running
slide show.
On a web page with animation the Esc key will
stop the animation o the web page The esc key
will stop the page from loading on the web page
The keyboard combination ctrl+esc will open the
start Menu.
Tab Tab
Tab used for going to forward in any application
or dialog box.
Shift+Tab or Crtl+Shift+tab used for move to
backward.
Ctrl+Tab this allow movement from one open
application with more then one open window.
Alt+Tab this is display a list of open application
window
Capslock Caps Lock
This key Caps lock the keyboard in “Capital”
mode (only applies on to the Alphabetic keys)
When caps lock on the all letter is CAPITAL MODE .
Shift Shift
Shift keys are two on the keyboard.
Shift key allow to selections of capital letter when
depressing the Alphabet key.
With Shift+Arrow keys we can select the text.
Shift+Delete use for permanently delete the
selected item. (it not store in a recycle bin)
Print
Print screen/ SysRq screen
SysRq
Usually to located at the upper right side hand
corner of keyboard. Abbreviated [Link]. The
print keys is useful key supported on most pics. It
used for take a screen short.
Scroll
Scroll Lock lock
Scroll lock is use for lock the Scrolling.

Keyboard have a 33 special symbols.
It is mostly use with shift key it is show on the
blow of the function keys
