Data Analytics Internship

(Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI / Tableau)

This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to data

analytics by working with real-world datasets. You will learn how
to collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data to extract meaningful
insights.

Duration: 4 Weeks
Mode: Remote

By the end of this internship, you will have a strong analytics

portfolio and hands-on experience in data cleaning, visualization,
and decision-making.

Collect • Analyze • Visualize • Insight

Important Instructions :
Working Approach:
Understand the dataset and problem before starting the
analysis
Break the task into steps like cleaning, analysis, and
visualization
Focus on understanding data instead of just generating outputs
Work step by step and validate results regularly
Data Analysis Process:
Explore the dataset to understand columns and patterns
Clean data by handling missing values and duplicates
Analyze data to find trends and key insights
Use charts to present insights clearly
Data Quality and Structure:
Keep data clean, organized, and properly formatted
Use clear naming and consistent data types
Avoid using raw or unprocessed data directly
Testing and Validation:
Verify results and check accuracy of calculations
Ensure charts correctly represent the data
Review analysis to avoid wrong conclusions
Tools and Learning:
Use Excel or Google Sheets for basic analysis
Use Python or SQL for data processing
Use Power BI or Tableau for dashboards
Learn from datasets and focus on extracting insights

Project 1: Sales Data Analysis Dashboard

What you will build:
You will build an interactive dashboard that helps a business track
its sales performance, profit trends, and growth over time. This
project simulates how companies analyze their sales data to make
better decisions.
Data Required:
Sales dataset (Order ID, Product, Category, Sales, Profit, Date,
Region) — this allows you to analyze what products are
performing well, which regions generate more revenue, and
how sales change over time
Source: Kaggle (Superstore Dataset) or any sample sales
dataset in CSV/Excel format
Steps to Perform:
Load the dataset in Excel or Python — to explore the structure
of the data and understand what each column represents
Clean the data (handle missing values, fix date formats, remove
duplicates) — to ensure your analysis is accurate and reliable
Analyze key metrics (total sales, total profit, top-performing
products, best regions) — to understand overall business
performance
Identify trends (monthly or yearly sales growth, seasonal
patterns) — to see how performance changes over time
Create visualizations (bar charts for product comparison, line
charts for trends, pie charts for category distribution) — to
make insights easy to understand
Build an interactive dashboard (Power BI/Tableau) — to allow
users to filter data by region, category, or time period
Outcome:
To learn how raw business data is transformed into visual
dashboards that help companies make decisions.

Project 2: Customer Segmentation Analysis

What you will build:
You will analyze customer data and divide users into different
groups based on their income and spending behavior. This helps
businesses understand which type of customers they should
target.
Data Required:
Customer dataset (Customer ID, Age, Gender, Annual Income,
Spending Score) — this helps identify patterns like high-value
customers or low-engagement users
Source: Kaggle (Mall Customer Segmentation Dataset or E-
commerce datasets)
Steps to Perform:
Load dataset using Python (Pandas) — to handle and
manipulate large datasets efficiently
Clean and preprocess data (remove unnecessary columns,
normalize values if needed) — to prepare the dataset for
analysis
Explore the data (analyze distribution of income and spending
score) — to understand customer behavior patterns
Apply clustering algorithm (K-Means) — to automatically group
customers with similar characteristics
Visualize clusters using scatter plots — to clearly see how
different customer groups are formed
Interpret clusters (e.g., high income-high spending, low
income-low spending) — to generate business insights
Outcome:
To understand how companies use data to segment customers and
create targeted marketing strategies.

Project 3: Real-Time Data Analytics Dashboard

What you will build:
You will build a real-time dashboard that continuously updates and
displays live data such as weather, stock prices, or cryptocurrency
trends. This project simulates real-world monitoring systems.
Data Required:
Real-time data from APIs (weather, stock, crypto) — this allows
you to work with continuously updating data instead of static
datasets
Source: OpenWeatherMap API (weather), Alpha Vantage
(stocks), CoinGecko (crypto)
Steps to Perform:
Fetch live data using APIs (Python requests library) — to collect
real-time information from external sources
Extract and format relevant fields (temperature, price,
timestamp) — to focus only on useful data
Process data (convert units, clean values, structure data
properly) — to prepare it for visualization
Build a dashboard using Streamlit or Power BI — to display live
insights in a user-friendly way
Add auto-refresh functionality — to update the dashboard
automatically after a fixed interval
Add filters or alerts (e.g., notify when price crosses a threshold)
— to make the dashboard more interactive and useful
Outcome:
To build a system that handles live data streams and provides
instant insights like real-world applications.
