All cells are composed of a living substance called protoplasm. It is
where all the chemical activities of the cell take place. The protoplasm of a
cell is divided into three distinct parts: cell membrane, cytoplasm and
nucleus. The different parts of the protoplasm carry specific functions that
are interdependent on each other. Below is the summary of the parts and
function of a cell:
