Aim:
To design an attractive and informative college technical event poster using image
manipulation and text art techniques in Canva, in order to effectively communicate event details with
a professional and visually appealing design.
Image Manipulation:
Image manipulation is the process of modifying and enhancing images using various editing
techniques to improve their visual appearance and create an attractive design. In this poster,
techniques such as Gaussian Blur, Brightness & Contrast Adjustment, Saturation Adjustment and
Drop Shadow were applied to create a professional technical event poster.
Text Art Techniques :
Text art techniques involve modifying the appearance of text using creative visual effects to
improve readability and emphasize important information. In this poster, techniques such as Glow
Effect, Shadow Effect, Letter Spacing, Outline (Splice) Effect, and Curved Text were applied to the
title, headings, buttons, and decorative text.

Saturation to enhance the color intensity.
4. Drop Shadow – Applied to the laptop image and college logo using Edit Photo →
Shadows → Drop to create a 3D appearance.

using the Transparency option to blend them smoothly with the background.

8. Shapes (Rounded Rectangle) – Used rounded rectangle shapes from Canva Elements
to create the Events, Highlights, and Register Now sections.

from Canva Elements to represent information visually.
10. Image Upload (College Logo) – Uploaded and positioned the Thiagarajar College of
Engineering logo using Canva's Uploads feature.

1. Glow Effect – Applied to the "VANTAGE QUEST 2026" title using Text → Effects →
Glow to highlight the main heading.
2. Splice Effect – Applied to the event titles and headings to add an outline around
the text, improving readability and making the text stand out clearly against the dark blue
background.

About My Poster :
The poster was designed for Vantage quest Event organized by the IPR Cell , Thiagarajar
College of Engineering. The poster uses a violet technology-themed background to represent
innovation and creativity. Image manipulation techniques were applied to enhance the background,
laptop image, and college logo, making the poster more attractive and professional. Text art
techniques were used to highlight the event title, date, venue, events, and registration details with
clear and attractive typography. The overall poster is visually appealing, well-organized, and
effectively conveys the symposium
information.

A professional and visually appealing technical event poster was successfully created using
Canva by applying image manipulation and text art techniques. The poster effectively communicates
the event details with a creative and organized layout.
