MOTHER TERESA:
Mother Teresa was born on August 26,1910. She had adopted
India as her motherland. Her mission was to help poor people
around the world and make their life better. She also wanted to
help the sick and the ailing, and all the suffering people in the
world and also the homeless and orphaned. Mother Teresa was
named Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. When she was young mother
Teresa joined the Sisters Of Loretto and became a teacher.

Florence Nightangle:
Florence Nightingale was born in 1820 into a wealthy family and
had comfort that no one could ever imagine, but she stayed
humble and didn’t want to live in such a place. She wanted to
serve the sick and the dying. She always believed that service to
humankind was service to God. Nobody thought that the job she
wants to do will ever be a successful job. But she carried on. Her
family thought nursing was not a honourable job at that time as,
nurses were unclean, untrained and paid a small amount of time.
However after forcing her parents, Nightingale received
permission to become a nurse.

Contribution to Humanity:
Mother Teresa:
Mother Teresa later quit her job after seeing suffering of several
people. At a time, she didn’t have the money to continue but she
carried on with her passion. She was finally successfully able to
establish The missionaries of charity. It was started with the
primary objective of helping those who were abandoned by
society. She not only did that but wanted to determined bring
hope and comfort to the dying. Even though she looked frail, she
had a spirit and tireless zeal.

Florence Nightingale:
The government raised fifty thousand pounds and Florence used
that money to set up the Nightingale home for training nurses at
St. Thomas Hospital. The most important service done by her
towards nursing was writing an eight hundred page report which
she wrote just to draw attention towards nursing. Because of her
nurses were finally well-trained, improved and paid a well amount
of money.

Awards and Accolades:

Mother Teresa:
Mother Teresa was awarded the Pope John XXIII Peace Price in
1971.
The Balzan Price for promoting humanity, peace and brotherhood
among people in 1978.
The Nehru price for promotion of International peace and
understanding in 1972.
The Albert Schweitzer international prize in 1975.
She was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1979 for her efforts to
overcome poverty and distress which are a threat to peace. When
she received the Noble Prize she requested the amount of 6000
dollars which was given to her to be sent to the slums of Kolkata
so the people there could be fed for a year.

Florence Nightingale:
In 1907, Florence Nightingale received the Honour of Merit and
she was the first woman to receive such a high honour.
