SECTION A — SHORT QUESTIONS (40 marks)


1. Simplify: (6x - 12)/(3x) × x/(x - 2)
2. Solve the inequality: 7 - 3x < 2x + 12
3. Rationalize: 5/(4 - √3)
4. Expand: (2x - 5)(x² + x + 3)
5. Factorize: 2y² - 11y + 15
6. Simplify: √75 - √12
7. Convert to a fraction: 0.■36
8. Evaluate: sin60° × cos30°
9. A(-2, 3), B(6, -1): Find midpoint & length
10. Scale 1:50,000 — distance for 12.5 cm (km)

SECTION B — FORM 2 APPLICATION (30 marks)


11. Shirts & trousers linear equations:
3 shirts + 5 trousers = 6100
2 shirts + 3 trousers = 3900
Solve for costs and total for 7 shirts + 2 trousers.

12. Geometry:
Interior angle = 156° → find number of sides.
If inscribed in circle radius 8 cm, find side length.

13. Trigonometry:
Pole height 20 m, shadow 14 m → angle of elevation.
Second pole height 35 m → find shadow length.

SECTION C — FORM 3 ADVANCED (30 marks)


14. Quadratic: y = x² - 4x - 5
Find: x-intercepts, axis of symmetry, vertex.

15. Logarithms:

b) log25 + log4 - log10
c) log(3x) = 1.477 → solve x.

16. Statistics:
Marks: 22, 40, 35, 28, 30, 40, 24, 38, 29, 30, 27, 35, 40, 33, 36
Find mean, mode, median.
Construct grouped table (class width 5, starting at 20–24).
