B1:

The pie charts give information regarding the percentage of France energy production from differents sources namely Gas, Coal,
Other alternatives, Nuclear, and Petrol varieties of energy production of France in 1995 and 2005

What is striking when looking at the data is the reduction in petrol generation as opposed to an upward trend seen in the figures for
the remaining energy sources with other alternative energy witnessing the most drastic increase. It is also important to note that
the production of Coal had the highest figures.
With regard to fossil fuels, in 1995, Coal, Gas and Petro contributed equally to the energy production of France, each accounting
for around one third of the total. However, in 1995, Gas and Coal observed an increase, albeit just negligible, whereas the amount
of Petrol used for energy generation decreased significantly by about 10%.

The increase in nuclear and other alternative sources used for energy production came at the expense of the reduction in Petrol.
Concerning other alternatives, there was a rise from 4,90% in 1995 to 9,10% in 2005, nearly doubling the initial (khởi đầu)
number/ figure. In terms of nuclear power, its proportion constituted 6.40% in 1995, followed by a rise to 10.10% in 2005.

Question 1: The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom,
Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Per person = per individual/ per head/ capita/ the average resident/ the typical person/ the typical resident …

Emission = the amount of CO2 emitted = carbon footprint (ko cần amount of)

Cách 1: The figure for CO2 emissions per individual in Sweden started/ commenced at nearly 9 mt and then increased
remarkably to peak at just north of 10 mt in 1977. Nevertheless, this peak was not maintained, (as it was) followed by a
steep fall to about 5.5 mt at the end.
Cách 2: Commencing at nearly 9 mt, the level of CO2 emitted per capita in this country increased markedly to peak at
just north of 10 mt in 1977. Nevertheless, this peak was not maintained, (as it was) followed by a steep fall to about 5.5
mt at the end.

Trà:

The graph illustrates the annual carbon footprint emitted per head in 4 nations, namely the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and
Portugal over the course of 40 years, starting from 1967.

What is the most striking when looking at the data is that the amounts of CO2 emitted per head in Italy and Portugal increased
significantly over the period shown, whereas those in the UK and Sweden witnessed falls. .It is important to note that the UK
consistently had the highest individual carbon footprint among the four examined countries

Focusing first on the UK and Sweden, the UK contributed significantly to CO2 emissions in 1967, with an average of around 11
metric tones (mt) of CO2 being released by the average per person, however this figure remained virtually unchanged, before
declining to steadily to roughly 9 mt in 2007. . A similar trend was observed in data of Sweden commenced at south of 9 mt per
head in 1967, with an increase to peak at about 10 per head in 1977 and a final drop to just under 5 mttonnes per capita at the end
of the period.

Tham khảo: Although Sweden recorded a fall in the overall carbon dioxide emissions over the period, this decline was more
pronounced than the UK’s. Commencing at nearly 9 mt, the level of CO2 emitted per capita in this country increased markedly to
peak at just north of 10 mt in 1977. Nevertheless, this peak was not maintained, as it was followed by a steep fall to about 5.5 mt
at the end.

Turning to the remaining nations, Italy saw its individual CO2 production increasing doubling from 4 to nearly 8 mt between 1967
and 1997, and then it remained there for the rest of the period. Similarly, The Portuguese carbon dioxide output rose almost
fourfold from 1.5 to 5.5 over the period.

The chart illustrates the number of tourists to six Australian Heritage sites namely: Great Barrier Reef, Central Eastern Rainforest
Reserve, Blue Mountains, Tasmania Wilderness, Shark Bay and Macquarie Island, every two years between 1996 and 2000

What is the most striking when looking at the data is an upward trend in the tourist count of Great Barrier Reef, Blue Mountains,
Tasmania Wilderness, Shark Bay whereas Central Eastern Rainforest Reserve and Macquarie Island experienced a decrease in the
popularity throughout the period. It is also important to note that the Great Barrier Reef had the highest figures.

Focusing first on/ Looking first at the sites with increasing visit numbers, the number of tourists to the Great Barrier Reef rose
nearly twofold/ nearly doubled between 1996 and 2000, from 1.670.000 to 3.200.000. A similar trend was also witnessed in the
figures of Tasmania Wilderness and Blue Mountains’s, but at much lower rates, with the former increasing from 450.000 to
526.000 and the latter climbing from 483.000 to 581.000 throughout the period. Regarding Shark Bay, although its data observed
an overall increase, its progression was not as consistent as the aforementioned sites’. Its tourist count increased from 84,000 in
1996 to 102,000 in 1998, followed by a fall by 13.000 at the end.
Conversely, the number of tourists to the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserve saw a steady decline, losing 20.000 visitors every
two years, from 810.000 in 1996 to 770.000 in 2000. Finally, the least favored destination was Macquarie Island, hosting only 310
to 350 annually during the period examined
The line graph gives information about the quantity of people around the world who use five means of communication,
namely Landline service, Internet service, Mobile broadband, Cellular phone service and Fixed broadband between 1998
and 2008

What is the most striking when looking at the data is an upward trend was observed in all five examined groups of users,
with Cellular phone service experiencing the most drastic increase. It is important to note that Cellular phone service had
the highest number of subscriber figures after surpassing that of Landline service from 2002 onwards while Mobile users
had the lowest.

It is notable that, Cellular phone service data started at around 5 users in 1998, after which it observed a dramatic rise
throughout the following years to reach its peak of 66 subscribers in 2008. Furthermore, Internet service figures were
recorded at about 3 users in 1998, with a subsequent rise to north of 10 users in 2004 and a final increase, doubling at the
end of the timescale.

Additionally, landline service increased steadily from approximately 15 individuals in 1998 to 20 in 2006, followed by a
slight drop to just under 18 in 2008.
The number of fixed broadband users began at 0 in 1998, prior to gradual increases, then peaked at around 4 users in 2008.
Similarly, mobile broadband had no users at the beginning, but then witnessed negligible rise to around 3 users in 2008.
