I think smart devices like Alexa and Google Home started to show up in a lot of homes after 2017.

Smart devices like these and security systems became really popular.

Many homes now have TVs and smart lighting and even smart appliances.

Offices are also using security systems and devices that are connected to the cloud.

The Internet of Things or IoT is used in lots of areas like healthcare and transportation and industries.

Rejecting evidence

The thing is, smart devices can be really expensive for some people.

There are also concerns about privacy and security that made some people slow to start using them.

Some countries do not have good internet infrastructure, which is a problem.

Today not every household has smart home technology.

I think the idea that smart devices would become popular was partly right because IoT devices did become really popular after 2017.

The idea that smart homes would be everywhere is not really true because some people cannot afford them and there are still concerns, about privacy and security and some places just do not have good

enough internet.
