26. S. If R is a relation defined on the set of natural numbers N as follows: R = {(x, y) : x ∈ N,
y ∈ N and 2x + y = 24}, then find the domain and range of the relation R . Also, find whether
R is an equivalence relation or not
27. Show that: tan⁻¹(1/2)+tan⁻¹(1/3) = π/4.
28. If A = [[2, -1, 3], [0, 1, 4], [0, 0, 2]], find determinant of A.
29. If sin (sin-11/5 + cos-1x) = 1, then find the value of x.
30. Find the intervals of increasing/decreasing of f(x) = x³ - 3x.
31. Evaluate: ∫ x²/((x+1)(x+2)) dx.

32. Show that the altitude of the right circular cone of maximum volume that
can be inscribed in a sphere of radius r is 4r3. Also, show that the maximum
volume of the cone is 8/27 of the volume of the sphere.
33. Using matrices, solve the following system of linear equations. x + y – z =
3, 2x + 3y + z = 10 and 3x – y – 7z = 1
34. If y = x^x, prove that dy/dx = x^x(1+ln x).
35. Solve: ∫ 1/(x√(1+x²)) dx.
36. Find the maximum and minimum values of f(x) = x³ - 6x² + 9x + 15.

37. Case Study – 1 (Inverse Trigonometry): A ladder rests against a wall making an angle θ
with the ground. If the top of the ladder touches the wall at a height of 12 m and the base is
5 m away from wall, find θ. Use appropriate inverse trigonometric function to justify the
answer.
38. Case Study – 2 (Applications of Derivatives): A company produces units of a product at a
cost given by C(x) = 5x² - 40x + 300. Find the marginal cost. Find the number of units at
which cost is minimum.
39. Case Study – 3
A man has an expensive square shaped piece of golden board of size 24 cm which is to be
made into a box without top by cutting square of side x centimetre from each corner and
folding the flap to form a box .
(a) What is the volume of open box formed by folding up the flag?
(b) What should be the side of the square piece to be cut from each corner of the board
to be hold the maximum volume?
(c) What should be the maximum volume of open box

Find the volume of the box if by folding up the flap length of side of the square base
of open box becomes 12 CM?
