Report Writing
A report is a factual account of an event, activity, or situation. It is written in an objective, formal tone,
presenting information clearly and concisely. Reports are often published in school magazines or newspapers,
and the format differs slightly for each.
Format:
1. School Magazine Report:
• Title/Heading (centred)
• Byline (By XYZ, Class …)
• Body (in paragraphs: introduction → details of event(Date, time, venue) → conclusion/outcome)
2. Newspaper Report
• Headline (catchy, centred)
• Byline (By Staff Reporter/Correspondent)
• Place, Date (mandatory)
• Body (chronological order: when/where → what happened → details → conclusion/impact)
Tips to Remember
• Keep language formal, factual, and to the point.
• Use past tense (except for conclusions/suggestions).
• Organise logically: what, when, where, who, why, how.
• Word limit: 120–150 words.
• Don’t add personal opinions (unless in conclusion).

ANNUAL CULTURAL FEST CELEBRATED WITH ENTHUSIASM

Ambience Public School, New Delhi, organized its much-awaited Annual Cultural Fest on 20th August 2025
in the school auditorium. The event was inaugurated by the Principal, who motivated the students to participate
wholeheartedly.
The programme began with a melodious choir followed by vibrant dance performances, skits, and a fashion
show based on the theme “Unity in Diversity.” Students showcased their creativity and talent through music,
art, and drama. The highlight of the evening was the inter-house quiz competition that witnessed keen
participation. The winners were awarded trophies and certificates. The event concluded with the Principal’s
address and a vote of thanks.
The fest not only provided entertainment but also helped students gain confidence and strengthen team spirit.

New Delhi, September 2, 2025: The Annual City Book Fair kicked off yesterday at Pragati Maidan, New
Delhi, drawing huge crowds of book lovers. Inaugurated by the Education Minister, the fair featured more
than 300 stalls by publishers from across India and abroad.
Visitors thronged the venue to explore the latest publications, children’s literature, and rare collections.
Interactive sessions with renowned authors like Ruskin Bond and Anuja Chauhan were a major attraction.
Special discounts and book launches kept the excitement alive. The fair also hosted workshops on creative
writing and digital publishing, encouraging students and budding writers. Adequate security and facilities
ensured a safe environment.
The Book Fair will continue till 10th September. Organisers expect the footfall to cross one lakh by the end
of the event, making it a grand success.
