Oral is the first stepping stone towards your dream secondary school, and we are not fumbling up this
step.

EL Reading Format:
When given a passage to read, it is extremely important that you know the context and how you
convey your emotions. Read in an organized manner, maintain volume, tone and speed. Teachers
focus on your ability to show your emotions and how you read it, not how fast or good your
pronunciation is.
Here are two examples of a passage, please practice your reading with these.
Passage 1: School Assembly Announcement
Good morning, students. I hope you are all well and ready for the exciting week ahead. I would like to
remind everyone that our annual Clean and Green Week begins next Monday. This is a special time
when we come together as a school to care for our environment and learn the value of responsibility.
Each class will be assigned a different area to clean, such as the canteen, the garden, the school hall,
and even the car park. These tasks will be done during your class’s designated time slot. Please
remember to wear your PE attire and bring along gloves if you have them. The school will also
provide additional cleaning materials for everyone.
We hope that through this event, you will understand how small actions can make a big difference.
Working as a team to keep our school clean shows that we respect our surroundings and one another.
Passage 2: Library Notice
Dear students, we would like to inform you that the school library will be closed for upgrading works
from the 15th to the 17th of July. During this period, students will not be able to borrow or return any
books. We apologise for the inconvenience and encourage everyone to return all overdue books by the
end of this week.
The upgrade will bring many exciting changes. One of the key features will be a brand-new reading
corner with beanbags and soft lighting to make your reading experience more enjoyable. In addition,
we will be adding more e-books and digital resources that you can access using your school tablets or
at home.
We hope that these improvements will encourage more of you to visit the library and discover the joy
of reading.

Question: Should children spend less time on screens?

excessive screen time can affect both their health and studies. For example, if
children spend many hours playing games every day, they may not get enough
exercise or sleep. This can make them feel tired and less focused in school.
Therefore, I believe it is important to balance screen time with other activities
such as reading, sports, and spending time with family.
⭐ For PSLE SBC, you only need to remember about 15–20 strong phrases rather than
the entire list. Focus on using them naturally and supporting your ideas with clear reasons and
examples, that's what usually earns the highest marks.
CHINESE ORAL EXAMINATION
In Chinese, you must note that vocabulary and tones are a stark contrast to oral. During this period,
you must be observant in both the passage and video, look out for any clues and remain calm at all
times. If you do not know a word/phrase, use alternatives or for reading passages, skip.
We will give you two reading passages for you to read, practice and look out for anything amiss.
Passage 1:
