1. Check outside and top of the shell for evidence of an impact, cracks or chemical damage.

2. Check the rim of the helmet for any impact damage, cracks or chemical damage.

3. Check that the inside base of the helmet is not deformed, cracked or broken.
Hardhat
4. Check the state of the harness for cuts and disorder.

5. Check headband adjusters for free movement and the remainder in adjustment.

6. Hard hat to be SABS approved.

1. Check that it is the correct size.

2. Check sole of the safety shoes for wear and cracks.

3. Check that it is free of chemicals, oil, grease, etc.


Safety Shoes
4. Check safety shoes for cuts in manufacturing material.

5. Check for damaged sole seams.

6. Check that the steel caps are intact.

1. Check that it is the correct size.

2. Check general condition of the glove.


Gloves
3. Check for cuts.

4. Check and ensure correct type of gloves for the work to be carried out.

1. Check that the frame of safety goggles is intact.

Safety Goggles / 2. Check that the lenses of safety goggles are intact and without scratches.
Glasses 3. Check that the adjustable headband is intact (when applicable).

1. Check dust mask for damage and contamination.

2. Check dust mask head strap for operation.


Dust Mask
3. Check and ensure correct type of dust mask for the work to be carried out.

1. Check hearing protection for damage.

2. Check earpieces for damage and cleanliness.


Hearing Protection
3. Check that the noise reduction rate of the hearing protectors is sufficient for the type of work

to be carried out.

1. Check that it is the correct size.

2. Check general condition of the reflector vest.

Reflector Vest 3. Check that the zip of the reflector vest is functioning.

4. Check that it is free of chemicals, oil, grease, etc.
