Theory
TAP Regulator Module:
The N-REG15 is the module that controls the voltage regulation level of the distribution
transformer TRANS3/5KR. The user can select the following regulation levels: -7.5%, -5%, -
2.5%, 0%, 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%. The module consists of:
1. ON/OFF switch
2. Supply terminals
Supply voltage 230VAC.
3. Two SUB-D connectors of 62 pins
For the connection with the N-PLC02 module and/or other modules.
4. Local/remote switch
The "local/remote" switch allows the user to work in two different
ways:
• Local mode: the voltage regulation of the transformer is done from
the seven positions selector.
Remote mode: the voltage regulation of the transformer is done from the optional software AEL-
Power Transmission and Distribution Lab Lab 04
MPSS-SOF.
5. Power connector of 10 pins
Connector for the connection of the transformer TRANS3/5KR to the module.
6. Switch
Switch to open/close the supply of the primary winding of the transformer.
7. Selector of 7 positions
The selector allows the user to control the voltage level of the transformer. The percentage of
regulation indicates the number of turns of the primary winding increased or decreased (-7.5%, -
5%, -2.5%, 0%, 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%).
8. LEDs that indicate the regulation level
9. Micro connector of 8 pins
Micro connector of 8 pins for the connection of the module with the transformer TRANS3/5KR.
That connector sends the commutation signals to the regulation counters located in the
transformer.
10. Primary winding input terminals
R, S, T input terminals to the primary winding of the transformer with voltage regulation.
11. Input line fuses
Three fuses of 10A.
12. Secondary winding output terminals
Output R, S, T terminals with neutral N of the secondary winding of the transformer.
13. Output line fuses
Three fuses of 10A.
