# Key/Indicator Light Description
1 <F1> (Hold Session) Used to stop the scrolling of text on the terminal
key screen. It does not, however, stop a command
from being processed once the hold session key is
released.
2 <TAB> key Used to move to the next field of a WorkStream
screen.
3 <CAP LOCK> key Used to lock the keyboard so only capital letters
will be typed. WorkStream requires upper case
data entry.
4 <SPACE BAR> Used to place spaces between numbers or letters
in WorkStream or to erase extra numbers/letters.
5 <RETURN> key Generally used to process the information
contained on a WorkStream screen by sending it
to the database for storage/processing.
6 <ARROW> keys Used to move up and down, and side to side
through WorkStream fields.

# Key/Indicator Light Description
7 Special Function The bottom of each WorkStream screen identifies
Keys <SFK1> the functionality of the key for that particular screen.
through <SFK9> Note: The SFKs are NOT used for numeric entries.
8 <PF1> Used on the 1DMS screen to display additional
function sub-menus.
9 Cap Lock Indicator The cap lock indicator illuminates when the
<CAP LOCK> key has been pressed. The <CAP
LOCK> key must always be activated when in
WorkStream because the software does not
recognize lower case letters.
10 Backspace key Used to erase any characters to the left of the
cursor.
11 <F13> (Delete Field) Deletes what has been entered into a field when the
key cursor is at the beginning of the field.
12 <F12> (Tab Back) Used to move backwards through the fields of a
key WorkStream screen.
13 Function Keys The Function Keys (with the exception of
(<F1> to <F20>.) <F1>,<F12> and <F13> are often defined as
WorkStream Function Keys (short cuts). Function
key definitions vary from site to site.
Commonly Used Special Function Keys
Special Function Key Description
SFK1 (Exit) Used to exit the WorkStream function displayed on
your terminal (usually to the menu for that function).
Pressing <SFK1> at the WorkStream Logon screen
exits you from WorkStream.
SFK2 (Help) Pressing <SFK2> either displays an explanation of
the screen you are currently viewing or takes you to
a menu of functions (referred to as the help menu)
from which you can obtain further help.
SFK3 (Next Function) Used to go to another function. When a function is
entered in the SFK3=Next Function field, you MUST
PRESS <SFK3>, not <RETURN>.
SFK4 (Next Page) On many screens, <SFK4> is used to move forward
a page.
SFK6 (Previous Page) On many screens, <SFK6> is used to move back a
page.

<PF1> + <C> Copy a single WorkStream field (like paste)
<PF1> + <SFK2> Field Level Help
<PF2> + <N> Access the WorkStream note pad
<PF2> + <A> Toggles the cursor from the overstrike mode to the
insert mode.

UTDG Create a table when a new name is put in the second blank. Also
used to update the structure of an existing table.
