Remote controller key
The door can be locked or unlocked by operating the
button within 10 m (33 ft) around the vehicle. Only 1
remote controller can be used at a time. If 2 or more
remote controllers are operated at the same time, their
operation will be unstable due to radiowave interference.

Speed linked door locking
To keep safety for driving, doors are locked automatically
when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h even though the
doors are not locked by a driver. When the doors are
locked by the speed linked door locking function, the
doors are unlocked when the key position is turned OFF
or pull out the key after parking the vehicle. However,
this function can be disabled with the scan tool.
When changing the setting with a scan tool, follow the
procedure below.
1. Connect a scan tool to the DLC.
2. Turn ON the ignition switch.

5. Select the BCM.
6. Select Programming & Resetting.
7. Select BCM Data Setting/Change.

11. Circuit diagnosis 4
Disconnect the BCM harness connector.
Connect a fused jumper wire between the answer-back
control circuit and the body ground.
If the hazard lamp flashes, go to Inspection of BCM
harness connector.
If the hazard lamp does not flash, repair an open circuit or

locked, the antitheft system is designed to protect the

engine hood without using the vehicle key or the remote
controller key is attempted, the BCM performs the drive
control of blinking the hazard lights and sounding the
horn intermittently.

When the anti theft horn and indicator output is ON, the

diagnosis information via CAN communication. The
BCM monitors the CAN operational status by expecting a
constant message flow from each module. The BCM sets
the DTC when any abnormality is detected in CAN
communication circuit.
