Text Document Creation

Aim

To create and format a document using Microsoft Word.

Procedure

Step 1. Create a Document

 Open Microsoft Word.


 Click Blank Document.
 Type a Title, Subtitle, and Body Text.

Step 2. Apply Font Formatting

 Select the text.


 Change the Font, Font Size, Font Color, and apply Bold, Italic, or Underline.
Step 3. Set Paragraph Formatting

 Align the paragraph (Left, Center, Right, or Justify).


 Set Line Spacing to 1.5.
 Adjust Paragraph Spacing if required.

Step 4. Insert a Table

 Go to Insert → Table.
 Select the required number of rows and columns.
 Enter the data and apply a table style.
Step 5. Add Header, Footer, and Page Number

 Go to Insert → Header and type the header.


 Go to Insert → Footer and type the footer.
 Go to Insert → Page Number and choose a page number style.

Step 6. Insert an Image

 Go to Insert → Pictures.
 Select an image and insert it.
 Right-click the image and choose Insert Caption.
Step 7. Apply Styles

 Select the main title and apply Heading 1.


 Apply Heading 2 for section titles.
 Use Normal style for body text.

Step 8. Generate Table of Contents

 Place the cursor at the beginning of the document.


 Go to References → Table of Contents.
 Select Automatic Table.
Step 9. Insert Footnote

 Place the cursor where the footnote is needed.


 Go to References → Insert Footnote.
 Type the footnote text.

Step 10. Save the Document

 Click File → Save As.


 Save the file as .docx.
 Save another copy as PDF (.pdf).
Result

The document was successfully created and formatted with text, table, image, header, footer, page numbers,
styles, table of contents, footnote, and saved in DOCX and PDF formats.
