Let’s start!
In this tutorial you will find step by step instruction
on how to knit a star toy
Thank you for buying this pattern. It is suitable for beginning and
intermediate knitting skills and assumes an understanding of basic
stitches and standard knitting terms. You will also need skills for
knitting in the round on four knitting needles. For your convenience,
the pattern contains many photos of the process.

Abbreviations
K = Knit
S2KP = Slip 2 stitches together knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitches over
knit stitch and off right needle.
St = Stitches
Rnd = Round
Materials
wool yarn in color you like
6 knitting needles
You will also need
yarn needle
scissors
toy filling to stuff the star
For the star I used wool yarn in weight 50 g (1.8 oz) / 167 m (183
yards) and needles in a size 2,75 mm (2 US or 12 UK).
The finishing toy is 8 cm in diameter. You can take another yarn (and
knitting needles in a size suitable for the yarn weight) and get
another size of your star.

The pattern instruction

Cast on 105 stitches.

Distribute stitches among 5 knitting needles (21 stitches on each
needle) and begin to work in the round.
Rnd 1: K all (21 sts on each needle, total 105 sts)
Rnd 2: K9, S2KP, K9 (repeat on each needle) (19 sts on each needle,
total 95 sts)
Rnd 3: K8, S2KP, K8 (repeat on each needle) (17 sts on each needle,
total 85 sts)
Rnd 4: K7, S2KP, K7 (repeat on each needle) (15 sts on each needle,
total 75 sts)

Rnd 5: K6, S2KP, K6 (repeat on each needle) (13 sts on each needle,
total 65 sts)
Rnd 6: K5, S2KP, K5 (repeat on each needle) (11 sts on each needle,
total 55 sts)
Rnd 7: K4, S2KP, K4 (repeat on each needle) (9 sts on each needle,
total 45 sts)
Rnd 8: K3, S2KP, K3 (repeat on each needle) (7 sts on each needle,
total 35 sts)
Rnd 9: K2, S2KP, K2 (repeat on each needle) (5 sts on each needle,
total 25 sts)
Rnd 10: K1, S2KP, K1 (repeat on each needle) (3 sts on each needle,
total 15 sts)
Rnd 11: S2KP (repeat on each needle) (1 sts on each needle, total 5 sts)

Cut the yarn and gather 5 remaining stitches together, pull tight. Hide
the end of yarn and fixate it on the wrong side of the star.

Pick up and knit 105 stitches along a slipped-stitch edge (21 stitches on
each needle). To make the knitting look neat, use a thinner needles for
this. Next, knit on usual knitting needles. Repeat from Rnd 1 to Rnd 11.

Put the stuffing into the star.

Cut the yarn and gather 5 remaining stitches together, pull tight. Fix the
yarn and hide it inside the star.
