CRITICAL EQUIPMENT
Mixers and Blenders - High-shear mixers for homogeneous resin-aggregate
distribution, preventing voids.
Vibro-Compaction Press - Breton-style systems; apply vibration (up to 100 Hz)
and vacuum for air removal and compaction for high packing density.
Curing Ovens - Controlled heating chambers for resin hardening, ensuring
tensile strength
Cutters & Polishers - Wet-cutting tools with local exhaust ventilation (LEV) to
manage dust; automated CNC routers for precision edging.
Conveyor Systems - Transportation of intermediate materials with soft handling
to prevent cracks and broken edges.
INSIGHTS
Homogeneity and uniform density is crucial in making high quality stones,
thus, making it necessary to invest in automated mixers, press machines and
curing ovens with real time status monitoring.
Entrapped air can increase porosity thus reducing compressive strength. Thus,
vibro-vacuum press machines (and mixers) are used.
The industry proposes huge growth potential due to the low proportion of
organized manufacturing (4.5%).
UPCOMING TRENDS
Low Silica / Silica free stones - Bioquartz and recycled aggregates; reduces
health risks (e.g., silicosis from dust); maintains strength via alternative binders.
Sintered Stone - High-temperature (1200°C) compaction for ultra-dense
surfaces; superior to quartz in scratch/heat resistance (up to 300°C tolerance).
Digital Twin manufacturing for high OEE and pre-implementation simulation of
novel manufacturing methods.
