90-DAY LEARNING JOURNEY
OVERVIEW
Your 12-week path to UI/UX design mastery is divided into four
phases: Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced, and Professional —
each building toward an industry-ready portfolio.
Foundations (Weeks 1–3) Applied Projects (Weeks 4–8) Production (Weeks 9–12)
Design thinking, user Research methods, information Prototyping, design
research, UX basics, architecture, wireframes, UI craft systems, usability
visual design principles & components. testing, handoff &
& soft skills. portfolio integration.
FOUNDATIONS PHASE
(WEEKS 1–3)
The first three weeks establish core competencies in visual design, user-centered thinking, and
Figma workflows. Each week builds a foundation for practical product design.
Week 1: Introduction & Visual Fundamentals
UI vs UX, the design process, design thinking, color theory,
typography, layout & grid systems.
Week 2: Understanding Users
User-centered design, personas, empathy mapping, journey
basics.
Week 3: Tools & Workflows
Figma setup, navigation, shapes, layers, frames and
components.
APPLIED PROJECTS PHASE PART 1 (WEEKS 4–6)
Introduction to structured product work, moving from research insights to
information architecture and wireframes for real user problems.
Week 4: User Research Methods
Interviews, surveys, competitive analysis and synthesis.
Week 5: Information Architecture
Card sorting, site mapping, user flows and
hierarchy.
.
Week 6: Wireframing Essentials
Low to high fidelity, sketching and developer
annotations.
APPLIED PROJECTS PHASE
PART 2 (WEEKS 7–8)
Continuation with UI craft and component thinking. Learners move
from screens to reusable patterns and accessible, responsive interface
decisions.
Week 7: UI Design Fundamentals
Platform design, forms, icons and responsive basics.
Week 8: Advanced UI & Component Design
Accessibility (WCAG), micro-interactions, atomic design, auto-layout,
variants and a mini component library
Ongoing Skills Track
Critique practice, communication, portfolio thinking and design
storytelling.
.
PRODUCTION PHASE PART 1
Weeks 9–10 focus on bringing designs to life and making them scalable across
teams through prototypes, usability testing and design systems.
Week 9: Prototyping & Usability Testing Week 10: Design Systems
Figma prototyping, Smart Animate, Design tokens, component
interactive components, test planning, documentation, pattern libraries and
scripts and reporting findings. governance.
PRODUCTION PHASE PART 2
Weeks 11–12 focus on collaboration, handoff, portfolio building
and industry preparation — turning design skills into a production-
ready portfolio.
Week 11: Collaboration & Week 12: Portfolio
Handoff & Industry Prep
Working with PMs, dev handoff Case studies, resume and
specs, Figma Dev Mode and LinkedIn optimization,
implementation feedback. design interviews,
whiteboard challenges and
salary negotiation.
FINAL WEEK: INTEGRATION & PRESENTATION
The Production phase culminates with portfolio integration. Learners
finalize their capstone case study and prepare a clear presentation of their
design work.
Days 85–89: Capstone Product Design
Choose HealthTech, EdTech, FinTech or Sustainability and design a
complete digital product end-to-end.
Day 90: Final Presentation
Present research, flows, high-fidelity screens, prototype, usability findings
and design decisions.
Final Deliverables
25+ high-fidelity screens, usability test report, complete case study and
portfolio-ready narrative.
DAILY COMMITMENT & SOFT
SKILLS INTEGRATION
Success in this syllabus requires consistent daily practice.
Dedicate 3-4 hour blocks each day to combine technical
ML learning with essential professional development skills.
Daily Time Blocks
3-4 focused hours per day for optimal retention.
Soft Skills Rotation
Research, wireframes, visual design, prototyping and
portfolio documentation.
Feedback Integration
Peer critiques, mentor reviews and iterative
improvement after every module.
