Time to get to know me a little.
Hi! My name
is Gaurav.
I'm your teacher for this course
In the 1970s, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak built Apple in a garage. At the time,
computers were big, boring, and expensive. But Jobs thought differently—what if
computers were beautiful, user-friendly, and personal?
This creative vision led to:
•The Macintosh, which introduced graphical user interfaces before anyone else.
•The iPod, which changed how the world listened to music.
•The iPhone, which disrupted the entire mobile industry.
Today, Apple is worth $3 trillion, all because Jobs prioritized creativity over conventional
thinking.
Key Lesson: Creativity isn’t about making art—it’s about seeing opportunities where
others don’t.
In 2000, Blockbuster was the king of home entertainment, and Netflix was just a small
DVD rental service. Netflix's CEO, Reed Hastings, proposed a partnership to bring movie
rentals online. Blockbuster laughed in his face.
What happened next?
•Netflix embraced creativity and digital transformation.
•They pivoted to streaming, despite the risks.
•They invested in original content, changing how people watch TV.
Blockbuster went bankrupt in 2010. Netflix became a $250 billion company.
Key Lesson: Creativity isn’t about playing it safe—it’s about anticipating the future
and daring to innovate.
