Tutorial 6.Docx

The document outlines a tutorial for a course in Computerised Maths II, detailing various mathematical problems related to rates of change in different geometric shapes. It includes questions about the rate of height change in a cone, surface area increase in a cube, volume increase in a sphere, and cost optimization for a rectangular container. Each question is designed to apply concepts of calculus and geometry in practical scenarios.

known that the radius is half the height of cone. Find the rate of change of height
when the height is 16 cm.
2. A length of a cube increase at rate of 4 𝑐𝑚 𝑝𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑. Find the rate of at which the
surface area increases.

3. The volume of a sphere is increasing at constant rate 12.8Π𝑐𝑚 𝑝𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑. Find
the radius of the sphere at the instant when the radius is increasing at a rate of 0.2
cm 𝑝𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑

5. A rectangular storage container with an open top is to have a volume of 10𝑚 . The
length of its base is twice the width. Material for the base costs 10 Maloti per square
meter. Material for the sides costs 6 maloti per square meter. Find the cheapest
cost of materials for making such container.
