There are 8 planets in the solar system.
To begin with Mercury, Mercury is the smallest planet and the closest to the Sun.
It's very hot during the day and very cold at night.
Next, Venus is the second planet.
It's covered in thick clouds and it's even hotter than Mercury.
The third planet is our home, Earth.
It's the only planet we know where life exists.
Mars is the fourth planet known as the Red Planet because of its red soil.
Jupiter is the fifth planet and the largest in our solar system.
It has a giant storm called the Great Red Spot.
Saturn is the sixth planet.
It's famous for its beautiful rings made of ice and rock.
Uranus is the seventh planet.
It spins on its side and has a bluish color.
Neptune is the eighth and farthest planet from the Sun.
It's very cold and windy there.
